Huf restored the pride in the Stamps franchise after the departure of Wally and several floundering seasons of F-Troop and the Dunigan years. Happy birthday John!!

Funny stories about Huff for me.
When I was co-hosting with Horsemen radio, we managed to get an onsite interview with John. We were thrilled. So the four of us packed up our gear and went to his office and set up. One of out guys (Who's name shall not be revealed to protect the opps) started digging in on John's NFL experience. Where he threw 1 touchdown and 8 picks over two years. John paused the interview and asked how many of us dummies had played in the NFL?
The Stampeders for a time had a tradition with Horsemen radio of a Beers with event at the start of the the regular season, It started with Ted Hellard who tried to baffle us with a question about a player coming in to the Stamps that hadn't been annouced yet, where if we guessed properly he would buy our entire membership pizza and beer. We guessed correctly that it was Teyo Johnson who had been recently cut in the NFL. The tradition carried on for several years and morphed into Beers with Huff. Its where I learned that Huff weaponized his hearing aid with some of the more enthusiastic fans where he made it look like he was scratching his ear, but was turning off his hearing aids.
Did you know that the Horsemen and Huff used to have 1 super top secret at the time dinner in the off season where we would just sit down and have talks about football and players that he was interested in, and he also bought in people from the marketing department to help us build a relationship with the Stamps that lead to a long list of Stamps players and the occasional coaches coming down to the basement.
You won't see a more determined and smarter football mind in the CFL and the teams continual success is testiment to Huff. He was also very willing to engage a rag tag website and give us access that we were shocked to get. (Ted also made sure that we got media accreditation as well, so thanks to Ted)
Happy Birthday Huff.

Huff's the best. We are so lucky to have him running the Stamps. Has he ever gave an indication on how long he wants to work? I wonder if Dickenson will be his successor although I don't know if he aspires to be a GM as he's got a lot of good years left in coaching.

This is a good signing by the Elks, Cornelius is showing that he can be a good QB in this league.

It seems teams are so quick today to turn the page on a young QB when he struggles. Progression isn't always linear as some QB's come out of the gates quickly but Anthony Calvillo for example didn't really turn into the HOF QB we think of until his 6th season.

Stamps and Lions injury reports are below - Branden Dozier and Demetri Royer were limited in practice, but overall the Stamps are very healthy.

Just correcting the record... it wasn't about Teyo Johnson. It was about a basketball player that the Stamps drafted (Henry Bekkering); the bet was that this guy would make the Stamps roster and dress for at least one game, or else Ted would take us out for beers. Once Bekkering was cut, Ted made good on his promise.

Agreed but after they fined the Riders for doing it a few weeks ago the precedent was set...
Can't have them thinking the league is more against them than they already think...
