Schedule is one of those things that is set though, it's not like the NCAA where you can pick your opponent. The Patriots got the Colts every single year because teams play against like conference opponents the remaining years. So yeah, the Pats got the Jets and Bills and Dolphins, but that also guaranteed them the Colts and Broncos and Ravens or Steelers every single year too.

Also, true story, but there's only one division who has had two teams make at least two appearances in the AFC title game since 2010....the AFC East. I don't think the AFC East has been any better or worse than the AFC South or West during that period. Only the AFC North can truly claim to be tough, it's had three consistently good teams the last 5-6 years.

Any team with a good record will always look to have a weaker SOS at the end of the year than teams who don't have good records largely because they handed out a lot of losses.

The real key to me is when teams play each other. Anyone who got the Packers in weeks 6 to 11 got a chance to play a team that was really hobbled. KC played the Texans in week 2 and the Titans this past week....lost both games. Reverse the schedule so it's Titans in week 2 and Texans last week and the Chiefs likely win both those games. Point is that there are so many variables in schedules, that you could argue for days about the strength of them. All you can do is win the games they give you.

New England does appear to be a cut above everyone else in the AFC right now. The fact that their defence looks better than it has in recent memory would make them an easy Superbowl favorite for me.

I would imagine the only team most experts will pick to win the AFC besides New England is Pittsburgh. NFC is wide open though, anyone who makes it will have a chance. But obviously nobody wants any part of Rodgerses (and for the remainder of the season I am referring to the Packers as the Rodgerses).

Pitts is sooo bad this year. Big Ben is the worst QB in the league on the road.

To beat NE you need good up the middle pass rush. It's Brady's 1 weakness.

KC, Oakland, and Denver could all potentially give him some issues in a perfect scenario.

He slaughters Balt or Pitts in my mind.

I didn't say it would be because of merit. It's the Steelers, media loves the Steelers in the playoffs.

Denver is in tough to make the playoffs and if they face the Pats in New England I don't think it's a close game. Raiders can go toe to toe with the Patriots offensively but I don't think the defense is up to the task of stopping Brady although I do feel the teams are 180 from the tuck rule game where the Raiders were near the end of their peak and the Pats ascending and the Raiders are due for retribution for being robbed. I feel the Chiefs probably could give them the toughest test as they are probably the best team in all three phases of the game as they can win the special teams battle, defensive battle, and the offense only has to make a few plays a game. Baltimore isn't even that good of a team IMO and Pittsburgh week to week have been inconsistent. Anything can happen but barring any injury to Brady I'm fairly certain the Pats will be representing the AFC in the Super Bowl.

Funny how 4 weeks ago the Packers seemed like they were right on the ropes. Now they completely control their own playoff fate. In fact they still have a decent shot at winning their Division as it's a matter of them winning out no matter what the Lions do since the two face each other in the final week.

I honestly could make an argument for why any of the 6 current NFC playoff teams could win the Conference with the exception of the Lions.

A shocking video has surfaced showing a security guard at the Chargers-Raiders game appearing to masturbate as the San Diego cheerleaders perform nearby.

Kim Cruz-Schmidt, a fan who posted the video to her Facebook page, is hoping the disturbing footage will be met with swift action.

“Chargers care that they have a masturbating security guard at the game. Several attempts to call both organizations with no concern for the Charger Girls, Charger Fans or Kids. So yeah this happened right in front of us yesterday,” she wrote.

The NFL franchise is aware of the incident, though.

Bill Stetson, Chargers director of security, told ABC10 News they are investigating the video.

“We’re obviously concerned and taking it seriously,” Stetson said. “We’re looking into it to determine exactly what happened, and if it happened, who is responsible.”

So Michael Floyd popped a .21 on his BAC, which makes him eligible for Super Extreme DUI charges, and 45 days in jail. God Bless Arizona, Super Extreme DUI lol.

I know the Pro Bowl is basically a joke and doesn't matter, but someone may need to explain to me how leading the NFL in passing yards and TDs doesn't warrant a Pro Bowl berth.

I thought Prescott making it as a Pro Bowler, was a bit dubious. He's been good for a rookie, but he's also been very sheltered. Either way one of the guys picked won't be going and I'm sure Brees or Stafford will end up playing in the game. At this point...people expect Brees to throw for 5000 yards...I think no one else has done it more than once or twice....Brees is about to do it for a 6th time.

I personally thought Lions kicker Matt Prater was the biggest snub. He's made every kick this year and many of them game winners. In a year where kickers have generally been terrible, him kicking at the level he has pretty much has got Detroit 2-3 more wins. His wins above replacement kicker this year is awesome!

.
Seemed to me like not even attention was paid to their injuries. They lost their top 3 corners and their best pash rusher in Mathews and in today's NFL that a killer combination. Doesn't help that their Secondary was/is already so green to begin with so once you lose your top 3 they are literally starting guys with basically no NFL experience. Pretty tough to win that way, but they did also play pretty uninspired football.

good that they are back in it and I think McCarthy and Rodgers deserve alot of credit for keeping the ship going. That D though still just isn't good enough to really make any noise. Think they'll get in and probably win the division but not sure they are as scary as some pundits are suggesting.

Ya, that's pretty egregious. The media are blind in love with Dallas.

Warms my heart to read this type of narrative; means the Cowboys are good again

Not sure how to feel about that challenge and then not going for it. Is a 47 yard FG that much harder than a 41 yarder? I feel like I want to hate that challenge a lot more, but I'm sort of indifferent.
