can't wait to see how Guardiola is going to cope with the British "journalists". He already hated the German media and continuously acted like a little child even when they asked harmless standard questions. He's going to LOVE the sharktank that is the English media.
I mean - I was just reading a short article from the Telegraph about the upcoming rule changes at the Euros. And even in an article from a relatively respectable newspaper about a "meh" topic, you'll find sentences like:
Quote:
Football and refereeing injustices go together like Andy Carroll's elbows and his opponents' ribs.
[...]
They new rules might, however, make the game a little fairer, a little simpler, and a little more of a challenge for the game's ingenious cast of cheats. Your move, Sergio Busquets.
[...]
Wayne Rooney's complexion resembles at the best of times an uncooked sausage under the shifting red light of a lava lamp.
|
those British journalists never fail to amaze me. You'd get fired for stuff like that in Germany and Austria, I'm sure

And he was always such a baby about 'The Mole' in Bayern.
The Mole...
"Psst, hey guys! Hes going to tell his players to hold on to the ball and play Lahm as a Midfielder! Dont tell anyone I told you!!"

Manchester United abandoned efforts to sign Benfica midfielder Renato Sanches after the move by vetoed by manager Louis van Gaal – offering the clearest indication to date that the Dutchman will remain as manager at Old Trafford beyond the end of this season.
Sanches, 18, completed a surprise move to Bayern Munich on Tuesday, with the German champions paying a basic £27.6m for the teenager.
United have trailed Sanches for months, with Old Trafford scouts repeatedly watching the youngster in his breakthrough season for the Portuguese giants.

That is laughable - they were fooled by the performances of the youngsters at the end of the year for sure.

United arguably needs a new Chairman more than a new Manager.

Hi Leicester/Spurs/West Ham, it's a Top 4 Finish here. United have cancelled their reservation for next year, are you still interested?

The thing is that United gutted it out on sheer talent alone. They were more or less winning in spite of LvG and I dont know if they can do it again.
And then this Sanches thing? Kyboshed by LvG at the death?

Who knows? Weren't the Spanish clubs supposed to have been interested too? And I just don't buy the reports that vanGaal has that much power at the club any more. What I'm reading is Bayern didn't beat them to it, United pulled out leaving the way clear for them.
United get laughed at for spending 36M on an unknown kid then get laughed at for not signing a 28M unknown kid.
So, I guess its one of those time will tell situations. Bayern might have got themselves a Ronaldo or a Bebe or an average in between.
But, yeah, regardless, I'd like to see Woodward gone as well.

I think the main issue was that it appeared to be a done deal until LvG vetoed it.
So if thats true then LvG has WAY too much influence and he'll be the manager next season, and thats a problem.

That's an unsubstantiated report that I don't buy at the moment.
I don't believe in any club the decision to spend 28M is solely down to one individual.
Let alone when said individual is a clown.

The Score just sent out the same story and they're usually on the up and up.

well all the English papers reported the same in the last hour, which usually indicates a briefing by the club. I expected the "pff we didn't want Sanches any way" thing because that's what United always do, but the "van Gaal is about to stay" thing is a kick in the nuts for sure.

Apparently the ManU/West Ham kickoff is postponed because fans were attacking the ManU bus.

Every day I hope that that insane Mourinho pre-contract contract is a true thing. Just for the entertainment value. I mean, I get that its unprecedented and without question batcrap crazy, but sometimes I just hope that its true.
And maybe so should you. If its actually a thing and LvG stays another season and they wind up paying Mourinho an insane amount of money for nothing you might be able to rid your club of LvG and Woodward at the same time.

What? Really? Why for this time? Cant be the Sanches thing but it could totally be because of another year of LvG.
