Yeah, but both LA and Winnipeg can go 4-0 and automatically qualify for the playoffs. Like Resurrection said, it kinda is a pointless statement to make.

LA and Winnipeg can't go 4-0 if we go undefeated.

And Calgary can't go 3-0 if either one of those teams do. Whoopee. It means nothing either way

Point You

You missed it

The flame control their own destiny because if they win their games their in.

Assume Calgary wins all three games in the worst possible way. In a shoutout.

They will be at 99 points 39 row.

If everything else goes wrong

LA will go 3-0-0-1. 99 points 40 row
Van will be 2-0-1-0. 100 points 42 row
Win will be 3-0-0-1 99 points 36 row

Winni will be out. That's is the worst case scenario if the flames win all of their games.

Yes, but you can say that for the other teams too. All three teams control their own destiny

So, I guess the plan tonight is to cheer for, first and foremost, no 3 point games and Minnesota and Vancouver.
Cheering for Vancouver makes me feel dirty.

Probably better for Vancouver to win, considering their remaining schedule. Pushing the Kings down does us more help than pulling in Vancouver.

Same concept with Minnesota. A Jets loss helps us much more than "reeling in" Minnesota.

In the end, it's unlikely the Flames finish ahead of any team they fail to beat in their last two games.
Anything else is probably being overly hopeful.

Flames are basically owning Canucks as a sort of weapon, silly Nucks are just a tool for the Flames to make playoffs and helpless Nucks can not help but fight for their win only to help their archrival triumph into playoffs.

I am going from memory, so my apologies - someone can get the exact quote.

Yeah. I'd go with the "can't lose the last two games" mentality.

We want to make the playoffs, those two games are must cause I doubt the Flames get any help.

The Canucks are not a very good tool for the Flames: Jets 5 Canucks 4

If the Canucks were good, they wouldn't be tools.

Yah, not sure why there's even a debate on this topic. All three of Winnipeg, LA, and Calgary control their own destinies because if each win their games, they're in, but at the expense of the other team losing.

Gotta give the jets credit, they are winning a lot of games against great teams down the stretch.

Indeed.

The Flames are really going to have to step up with their best games of the season against them and the Kings, I think.

Jets looked very good tonight from what I saw.
