I think he got the Alex Burrows treatment. When someone is known as a whiner, the UMP won't give them the benefit of the doubt. If that is another player they are likely now thrown out, but Jose whines so much he needs to sleep in the bed he made.

Another great pitch. The Jays need to stop whining about strikes.

credit where credit is due, what a slide by Bautista to save the game, Encarnation ties it with a double.

Interesting interview with Bautista today before the game
http://www.tsn.ca/blogs/scott_macarthur/?id=460257
"
Question: "Do you and Alex (Anthopoulos) have an understanding and a special relationship that doesn't need constant conversation to understand each other?
Bautista: "I think so."
Question: "And it's all about winning?"
Bautista:"To who? To me, yes. To him, you'd have to ask him that."
Question: "Has your perception of his dedication to winning changed in the last year?"
Bautista: "No. I think he wants to win. I think he's fully committed to winning."
Question: "Has your perception of the organization's dedication to winning changed?"
Bautista: "I don't have enough information to answer that question."

is it just me or are those some pretty weird questions, designed to cause more harm than do anything good?
How the Jays are this close to .500 is astonishing though.

It's a reporter's job to stir the pot.
"Is it all about winning?"
Bautista could have simply answered "yes, we're all here to win"

The article discusses further about ownership's promise at the beginning of the season to the team to open the purse strings if they were in contention. I can't blame the players for being a bit miffed about no moves being made.
With all of the rumors flying around about not taking on salary, it appeared that AA's hands were tied and couldn't make a move. However, that is pure speculation and it could have been truly that no players were available to Toronto for a "reasonable" price.

Yeah, this seems pretty obvious at this point.
I can see why Bautista & Co. are so upset especially after a bunch of guys were willing to re-structure their contracts to give the Jays cash to make a run at Ervin Santana. I'm sure the response from ownership at the time was that we can't afford to sign Santana because it won't give us any flexibility during the season. Then the Jays go silent at the deadline in spite of major injury issues and it's understandable that guys are pissed.
