Wait until Nenshi recruits him to run in one of the south Calgary ridings.

It's one of the most interesting face turns I've ever seen. The Guy loses (not by all that much). Goes on a spirit quest in the woods. Comes back with all of the irrational and simplistic thinking that stopped him from getting elected complete erased from his mind.

Well even aside from whether I like him or not, I have a lot of respect for that. In politics today, we rarely see someone reassess their views and change their opinion on things.

UCP to kick off another "Alberta is Calling" ad campaign across Canada with a moving bonus. If you think the affordability problem in Alberta is bad now, wait another couple of years.

Union Propagandists eating each other? This should be interesting considering, you know, the basic concepts of Unions.

Part of me wonders if it is a "Long Con" but as time goes on I am thinking it isn't

Generally it wouldn’t be bad policy but with the housing affordability issues we’re having right now it’d be a bit of a slap in the face of Albertans who are already struggling to see their tax dollars spent on subsidies that make the problem worse.

I’d be kind of interested to hear your take on what the basic concept of Unions is. Always needing to agree with each other has never been a requirement.

It’s targeting trades people which are needed to alleviate these issues.

His long hike led to a change. Although, never really know until get gets back in. He might have realized his style of politics would only get him so far.

I haven't had a chance to ask the man himself, but I did ask a certain someone that is running for NDP leader, and they believe in second chances.

Usually, the face turn is in the opposite direction. From progressive, liberal thinker to right-wing, nut-bar, conspiracy-leaning grifter. Musk and Russell Brand, to name a couple.

Yeah, ultimately the only way we can fix this is by big increases to the housing supply. Re-zoning across the country with Federal funding attached increases the supply of buildable land, and here in AB there is plenty of land on the outskirts for new supply. Labour supply is almost certainly going to be the limiting factor here - if we can import skilled building trades we should absolutely do so.
We also need to encourage more people to enter those fields from high school, but I think in many ways that's a "societal attitude" problem, which is tough for the government to fix.

Yeah, if the Farkas we see now had been the Farkas who was on council and ran for mayor there is a non-zero chance I would have voted for him.
I mean I still disagree with him on a lot of stuff but private citizen Farkas we see now actually seems like a genuine human being while I always used to wonder if councilor Farkas actually had a belly button because I suspected that he was actually cloned in the secret underground skull-shaped lair of the Manning Foundation.
