I'm getting closer to removing this show from my viewing list which is kind of sad but I'm not sure I can sit through many more...

Also, who decided to leave that child to guard the prisoner cage alone? Maggie's in charge I think... There's something that wasn't thought through very carefully.

Haha that's funny. They didn't leave a kid to guard the prisoners. He picked up a weapon from one of the dead after the attack and went to the pens intent on killing the Savior who killed his brother.

Seems like you've already checked out if you missed that.

LOL. You are completely right and your observation is spot on. I totally missed that. Sigh...

Things I liked:

-The fight generally
-Where Maggie is at, the tension between leadership responsibilities and a selfish desire for revenge... I think I'd much rather be in a group led by her than one led by Rick
-The tension created by wondering if all or any of the turncoat saviors are going to screw over the hilltop
-Zombies actually being a somewhat problematic issue

Things I didn't like:

-Child characters being irritatingly stupid
-"You know what it is" - obscurity does not equal depth
-Darryl's almost comically stubborn insistence that Dwight is evil; -Tara's sudden about-face to "he can do no wrong"
-The imprecision of numbers associated with each group - let's just settle on how many each party has left and go from there. Although if you do, just stick to it... I watched 13 Assassins on the weekend, and I liked it, but they actually mention how many enemies are left and then go on to kill roughly double the quoted figure, which is just frustrating.
-Lack of Negan

I get how he got his hands on the rifle, but how did he get the key to the compound?

He found it in the "stupid plot devices" box.

Between actor contract disputes and pumping Maggie up to be a great leader, they're definitely going to kill her off. They never let anyone have continued success or happiness. Build them up to knock them down.

Yeah, that I don't know. I also don't know why he needed to unlock the gate. He would have been safer just shooting them through the fence.

I guess we wouldn't have had the drama of the great escape. Smack a kid, take his gun and run for it.

The whole time Dwight was running behind Simon, I thought for sure he'd take him out before he made it to Tara. Or better yet, Tara was going to die. Neither happened and I should have seen that coming.

Yeah that made absolutely no sense.

The fence wasn’t exactly secure to begin with. It seemed pretty shoddy and a well placed kick would have toppled the thing.

This was so freaking confusing, and completely undercut the characters' believability.

Flip flopping like this isn't really serving a purpose. The original uncertainty and tension was fine.

Seems reasonable. He's the only one out of the prisoners that hasn't been found. And he can say that Simon went to the Hilltop and sold out the Sanctuary group. This is to ensure the demise of Simon.

I'm guessing it's the woman that escaped Dwight's ambush.

So if he wasn't already, I guess Rick is officially one of the bad guys now.

And try as they might to make Negan sympathetic, the guy rapes women and straight up murders people by pulverizing them with a barb-wired bat he named after his wife.

That's exactly who it is. As soon as she got away, I knew she'd be back at some point to cause problems for Dwight.

Rick and Morgan gone full Negan now. Maybe even worse than that. Them suddenly attacking the Saviors that let them out was easily one of the biggest surprises for me recently.

Negan awesome as always in this episode. "What the sh*t? What the actual sh*t??" Actually didn't mind garbage dump lady this episode. Who's in the chopper she was trying to flag down?

Gonna be hell to pay all around next week I'd wager. I'm actually excited for new episodes again!

I would say that Negan is leaning more towards less of a bad guy. At least he acknowledges that it is important to keep people alive (the purpose of keeping them alive can be discussed separately). Clearly Rick has no interest in the lives of those other than his own people. The fella in the bar got a hatchet to the back of the head for his efforts in saving Rick.

I am very interested to see where these to characters go in the next 3 weeks.

A little bit of me thinks there is something coming that could force the two to come together and fight on the same side. Whether it is the Helicopter people or the chick that gave the book to Hilltop. I am not 100% convinced that when Negan dies he won't in an alliance with Rick et al.

There's far more of a logic to Negan's evil than Rick's. Morgan is just mentally destroyed.

The episodes and plotlines are getting more interesting (yay!), but they keep pushing the "shades of gray" theme and it's getting to the point that there isn't a developed character in the show that you can cheer for anymore.

Sorry to beat that dead horse, but who's left at this point? Maggie (sort of), Michonne, Ezekiel? Far less developed: Jerry, Aaron?

Rick going back on his word, yet again, just kind of pissed me off. Maybe I just have some residual pissiness.

For the record, my favorite characters right now are the biggest bad guys: Negan and Simon. And Morgan and Negan are probably the best characters in the show right now.

Rick and his Murder Jacket.

I wonder if the helicopter is the Mrs.Doubtfire's community. She's the only real group that comes to mind that is new.
