Did Dinklage win yet? If so, then I would say give it to Kit, despite me generally not liking his style - he did quite well this season. Lena for sure. She is amazing.

Twice, 2011 and 2015. He's also been nominated every year in between.

Kit was awesome this year. They pulled his hair back and he started channeling his inner Sean Bean. More mature character, came across as a true leader.

I guess you cant nominate anyone in Game of Thrones for a 'Leading Role' seeing as how every character is more or less a supporting character.

Weird nominating Maisie Williams for this season, arguably Arya's weakest and most boring, and not season 2 where she was consistently excellent with those scenes with Charles Dance.

Nominations are a little funky. Producers pick who gets nominated from their respective shows, then they select a single episode from that season to be judged.

I was surprised Natalie Dormer didn't get a nomination.

Who's that? I don't recognize him or recall what character he plays. Is he the Mountain?

As expected, HBO has confirmed that Season 7 will only be 7 episodes long, and won't return until sometime next summer because of the delayed shooting schedule.
Quote:
"Now that winter has arrived on Game of Thrones, executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss felt that the storylines of the next season would be better served by starting production a little later than usual, when the weather is changing,” HBO programming president Casey Bloys said. “Instead of the show’s traditional spring debut, we’re moving the debut to summer to accommodate the shooting schedule.”

It is likely much easier from a logistical perspective to shoot winter scenes in Europe during winter than to shoot winter scenes in Greenland or wherever in the fall.

Hoping for at least 7 episodes for season 8 as well.
Or they should do 7 for 7 and 8 for 8.
