Not once have I written them off this season. Just because I pointed out the grim possibilities and how tough this race will be, doesn't mean I wrote them off.

I haven't missed a game since February. Someone who wrote them off wouldn't be able to say that.

Then you would know that the Flames beating the Jets was the 4th loss in a row making the Jets 1-4-0. The other game the Flames beat the Jets it was the 4th game of a 4 game losing streak.

If the the Jets are on a 3 game losing streak for the last game of the season it would only matter if the Flames were on a 2 game losing streak.

Yeah I think this Jets team is a very different one in October, and in a play in game... I'll take the Jets and home ice as a betting man. But that's me ... a Jets fan.

I'm with you. The way the Jets are playing right now vs how the flames are, I'd give the edge to the Jets. In a single game elimination though, who knows

@DarrenWHaynes: #Flames could miss playoffs with 98 pts if final week unfolds like this:
LA - 3-0-1 (99)
VAN - 2-1-0 (99)
WPG - 3-0-1 (99)
CGY - 2-0-1 (98)

The Jets could also miss playoffs with 99pts

LA 3-0-1 (99) (ot loss to flames)
VAN 2-1-0 (99) (loss to kings)
WPG 3-0-1 (99) (ot loss to flames)
CGY 3-0-0 (99)

4-way tie, but jets lose on ROW

Where would kings be and Calgary?

Assuming no SO wins, that would mean:

2nd: Calgary (same ROW as Van, win the season series)
3rd: Cunucks (more ROW than LA)
8th: LA

So if LA beats the Canucks in regulation time, which is quite possible and we win our last three games without going to a shootout, we'll finish 2nd.

I think we want Chicago to win tonight, that should give the blues motivation Tuesday against the Jets to still obtain home ice advantage.

Minnesota should be motivated tomorrow as well as they are still slightly in the picture and a jets win would put them only 2 back of minny. I dont see minny not making it, but they certainly should be motivated tomorrow.

If that jets could just lose the next 2 games that would make things so much easier.

The Coyotes have defeated the Canucks twice this season.

No surprise the Canucks lost to the Jets.

They will probably also lose to the Kings, and then go ahead and win both of their freebee games against the bottom feeders in order to finish with 99 points. Heck, they'll probably lose to the Kings in overtime, so they end up with 100 points just to be safe, and then the Kings still get a ROW.

Going to expect the worst. Every time it seems the OOT is letting up on us, it turns out it was just catching it's breath in order to pound on us a little bit harder the next time.

And it's still a really bad idea to count on that happening again because regardless of past record, the Coyotes are a terrible team and the Canucks are just mediocre.

If we tie Canucks for 95 (they lose to LA and we beat the yotes) do we go second?

Yes, but then we play LA and Winnipeg while they play oilers and Arizona...

Nucks have the tie breaker more ROW than us

If the Flames win their next game in reg/OT and the Canucks lose, both teams will have 40 ROW.

The next tiebreaker is points earned between the two teams which the Flames would win.

Only by one ROW, so yes, Flames would have second place if they tied the Canucks at 95 points (with a ROW) because the Flames hold the second tiebreaker over every team in the division
