SimCity modder says game doesn't appear to offload significant calculations:
http://www.polygon.com/2013/3/19/411...-play-possible
This basically supports what I said way before launch; they've sold 1 million copies. There's no way you can convince me that 1 million people's computers is less powerful than the sim city server farm.

HELP!
Any good troubleshooters here? Any tips i would appreciate!
I have a mining headquarters, which i have turned off (closed) .
I am trying to turn it back on and plop a smelting division attached to it. However, it turns back on (opens), then I edit it, and when I click the icon for the smelting division prior to planting it... game blows up and restarts..
Happen 8 or 9 times, last night and this evening.
Any tips?
Thank you in advance!

Tip some of you may want to try out to alleviate traffic: do not build 4 way intersections. Only build 3way T intersections. I have a city that has only 3 way intersections currently and no streetcars, and traffic is not a problem for me currently.
Also, the other tidbit I have found is to mix residential and commercial zones together. When people can go to work, go home, go shopping and go home in the same day, they are happy. If you have commercial zones in the center of the map, it takes time for them to get there and if they don't make it by the end of the day, they will be unhappy.
You also have to keep an eye on the detail population tab. Most important "graph" in the game. Tells you how many are unemployed, or how many jobs are unfilled and what wealth level they need to be. Extremely helpful in planning the city.

If a game drops out because of any action beyond hitting quit game its a bug, report it.

Maybe it would get them to just walk to work instead, and traffic would be greatly alleviated.

sounds like you have to build it like calgary. Have urban sprawl with the latest facilites and a downtown core with litte to do.
Edit: Should of quoted worth's post. yeahh I was trying to make fun at Worth's discovery of having to mix residential and commercial all over.

1 - The map sizes are too small to even re-create downtown Calgary alone.
2 - If you think downtown Calgary is boring, you are wrong.
3 - What was this even in response to, other than taking a dig at Calgary?

If you download Origin on a different computer can you load a previously played region created on a different computer?
Thanks

Considering it's all cloud-based, I would say yes, as long as you're logged into the same region.
If the answer is no, then that's seriously ####ed.

I was hoping as much. I assumed it was since it says syncing cities with server whenever I log off.

I read somewhere that, possibly in a tweet, that it takes a long long time for the radiation to go away.

Good thing you can just put it in cheetah mode to shorten up the wait.
