I actually started calling him PP because I was using JT. Then someone I work with gushed about how much they love PP and it did make me laugh. It was especially funny because that guy is not LGTBQ friendly and he got mad.

I find nicknames for politicians fun and harmless, like who gives a ####, really. While yes, childish in nature, they're just cheap and amusing sharpenings of the blades when we make jabs at each other in our political discourse, nothing more.

Pierre will forever be Milhouse (which I find funny and sometimes I add Angry in front of that name to really get right-wingers excited on Reddit), and Marlaina is hilarious because that's Smith's actual, original first name and likely doesn't want anyone to know that... but she wholeheartedly earned us calling her that. All sides and politicians of the political spectrum are open season too, I see no issue there. Hell, there's a ton of really fun ones for Trump.

Couldn't imagine wasting energy getting mad at 'nicknames' for politicians used by complete strangers on an internet message board lol.

PP is probably the funniest one because it’s literally just his initials and it still triggers people even when used in a totally innocuous way.

Ya, I never understood this kind of thinking. No leader, no matter how bad, could ever cause me to consider Canada a "joke" or cause me to hate my country.

The economy is certainly in the ####ter, people are more divided than ever, but i don't think its anywhere near past the point of no return. I think with the right leader the economy can turn around relatively quickly. It would be nice if these politicians would focus more on their own policy, rather than attacking the other guy, but I know thats likely never going to happen.

If anything this is all just what the dr ordered for the Canadian oil patch. I think rather than roll our eyes at changing minds we just run with it and get excited. If people are willing to work with industry on pipelines- time to roll. Everybody wins IMO.

The latest EKOS poll was released today and it roughly mirrors the last poll with conservative being down to a seven point lead and being tied in Ontario

This is a rolling 5 day for the Canada wide number and 9 day rolling for the provincial numbers. I know there was discussion of the validity of an IVR poll so I think the delta since December is what is interesting here rather than the absolute values

When compared to the Dec 18 poll you have some wild shifts

44-19 -18 versus 39-32 -14 today.

Over similar time periods Nanos is unchanged and mainstreet has about half the magnitude of change. Exciting times for polls.
