Probably the same as what SEC is getting from Bingo for posting GIF's

I have a question on the condition...I can't recall if I saw the answer to this.
In order for the pick to fall back to 2026, does Vegas need to trade the 2025 pick by tomorrow? or can they still trade it next year?

Another thing to mention is that Conroy said his approach to business was going to be more of a group think (as opposed to what Tre did). Ultimately he makes the final call but there are a lot of smart hockey guys with experience in the room (i.e. Nonnis and Maloney). If the deal was made then you must assume this was universally approved and definitely the best offer on the table.
Also, from the other thread, how can you not like the enthusaism of Miromanov. At least he wants to be here.

I think they have to trade it by the 10th

Doesn’t have to mean that at all. We were told by the insiders here that Friedman was doing favours for Tampa a few days back. There’s always a give and take and to be in the Flames good favour he complements them. Why didn’t all these teams pony up sizeable assets to be the centrepiece? The word in this context is laughable. Pure lip service.

I am curious as to what the return might have been if Hanifin had signed an extension. Irrelevant now but the fact he’s a rental certainly lessens the blow.

I love the lengths some will go to keep their narrative going.
Friedman saying other teams are involved is only Conroy telling him that? No other chatter around the league from the number one insider?
And now long does that work if Conroy feeds him PR crap to report only to find out it isn't true?
A one off and then Friedman knows better?
I can't for the life of me imagine why fans of a hockey team are willing to invent stories to keep a negative spin on a player just acquired? Why in pray tell would anyone do that if you're a fan of the team? Don't you want good things?

still thorougly underwhelmed by the return, but I do like the general direction a lot.
5 1sts in the next three drafts
an extra 2nd this year, plus an extra 3rd or 4th
an extra 2nd or 3rd next year
an extra 3rd in 2026
around 20m in cap space next season with only Kylington and Pelletier to re-sign
so while I I dislike the return of this trade in isolation, that's still a lot of flexibility and ammunition going forward. And if you add the fact they've added a quality prospect in Brzustewicz, a good roster player and potential trade chip in Kuzmenko and hopefully a useful guy in Miromanov, there's certainly a lot to like.

An agent telling Friedman that Hanifin wants to go to Tampa is actual info if it's Hanifin's agent. It's direct and to the source.
A guy that just made a trade telling him other team's wanted the player isn't direct and it's hearsay.
If Friedman is connected he doesn't have to just go with it, and if he did but was proven wrong he wouldn't do it again.

I can't help but agree with the other poster that said Calgary's competitive window is likely 2030 or beyond.
If so, the 2026 pick will come in handy.
If it's a high pic, and the player is ready to crack the line up in 2026/27, they'll be up for resigning after the 28/29 season when the Kadri money is available.
If it's a late pic, and the player takes a season or two to mature before cracking the line up, they'll be up for resigning after the 30/31 season when the Huberdeau money is available.
As a bonus, in the off chance Calgary is competitive in 3 years, we'll need the 2026 first rounder on an ELC to help overcome those previously mentioned contracts.
This is going to be a long and bumpy road before the Flames ice anything close to competitive again.

Yes, so far with all of Conroy's trades, it has been picks in, no picks out, and no chances taken on pending UFAs. Like or dislike the details of each individual trade, in terms of the overall direction this club should be going, this is the way (those with more time on their hands can insert the relevant GIF).

Hopefully it becomes a 2026 lottery pick and a 2nd with the player becoming a Flames regular. This thread would be a great bump at that point.

To be honest, it seems Conroy and his scouts are Moneyballing this team, and I'm kinda coming around to it simply for the intrigue...

Complain when the media doesn't give the Flames enough credit.
Flames given credit... Complain with equal level of disdain that media isn't being objective.
I think you're on to something.

Essentially identical to Hanafin’s scoring production. 6/14 is .43 ppg Hanafin’s career is .42 ppg.

I’m definitely coming around to this trade. One thing is, I trust Conroy and the scouting staffs abilities. I think Conroy has proven to be pretty good in this regard, so far.

He was hurt all year. Once he got healthy, he went on a rehab stint and was then activated and playing. They didn't play Hutton or Bjornfot over this this year.
