Over/under on number of Dino posts in this thread? I’m setting the line at 187.5 posts, an even 10% of the thread content.
Gotta keep you guys honest
Panthers have the 1 point lead but have the Leafs and Canes
Pens have the Hawks and BJs
Panthers likely have to win both to make the playoffs with 95 points...which would be very fortunate despite Tkachuks season....that's not even Snake level
Should be interesting
And then Boston in round one? Thread should be spicy, I'll take the over

Well if they win both games they will play Carolina.

Hahaha, I love this stuff. Isn't snake level 96 points?
Actually this is true...if they make it they likely play Carolina
Pens and Islanders should win their last games
Panthers would have to win both of their games and win the tiebreaker vs. the Islanders
Carolina is no slouch either though, Interesting that the Canes can keep them out potentially. Makes for an interesting last game
Well hopefully the Panthers do some damage in the playoffs. Would be nice to see Tkachuk take the next step beyond just run of the mill unicorn superstar.
The level that dino has gone to to disparage ex Flames especially Tkachuk is amazing, impressive really. There is a fire that burns deep. The goal posts keep moving too, lol.

Thanks for fighting the good fight.
Honestly I think you’re arguing with ghosts or something. The posts I see about Tkachuk, other than yours, are pointing out how good a season he is having. You’re the only one worried about how deep his team goes in the playoffs or how many draft picks they have.
I would say that the triangle that is Calgary/Columbus/Florida was the rare lose lose lose scenario. Hopefully Columbus loses the draft lottery too.
I'd give Florida a punchers chance against the Canes. Without Svechnikov the Canes do lack the offensive punch that a team like Florida does have. So there's always that chance to lose a game 3-2 when you've carried the play and have a 41-17 shot advantage when the other team has better finishers.

It's hard to say what the Panthers will do if they make it. That's a big if still since they're season has been a total rollercoaster. They are riding a winning streak right now but haven't played particularly well the last two games, I could see them win or lose both against Toronto and Carolina. But if they do make it they are 2-2 against Boston and 1-1 against the Canes this year, I think either series would be interesting and not a slam dunk for the top seeds.
Really? You think its standard for a player to jump 30/35 points in production jumping from line 2 to 1? Even if you think you do, is it Tkachuk making the difference in his own jump or playing with better players? When you pay players upper echelon dollars (9/10+ mill plus), I feel like they need to be able to be elite producers in both the regular season and playoffs, no matter who you are paired up with.
there have been a lot of comments putting down Tkachuk and what he's done this year because he hasn't been elite in the playoffs.
I think those comments should be tempered by the fact that down the stretch with a playoff spot on the line, he has raised his game even higher.
He's brought it when it matters most this season. Whenever the Panthers finish the season, no way is anyone going to be able to say it's because Tkachuk didn't bring his A game.
saying "but the playoffs" seems to just be posters who don't want to give him credit for what he's done. If he kicks butt in the playoffs, there will be some other excuse.

How he plays in the playoffs going to be interesting as hell.
It depends on whether Tkachuk takes on the fake tough guy agitator role. Game 1 he’s fully engaged, and then it tapers off from there. Seen it three straight playoff rounds.
Based on how he’s approached this season I have to think he’s learned since then, if anything this year shows he can tilt the ice using his skill first and foremost. We shall see.

I'm actually a huge Tkachuk fan, I wish he never left and he's my second favourite Flame after Johnny. But he was awful against Edmonton, and so-so in the first round. Let's just wait and see what transpires - if anything - this season.
If he can continue to be PPG in the regular season, put up good numbers in the playoffs and the Panthers make a run or two, his cap hit will be incredible value. And I want to see it happen.

He looks like he has matured this season.

People just want to hear what they want to hear. CREDIT TO TKACHUK for his excellent season, but context matters, Huberdeau did the exact same thing last year and now a bunch of you think he can't play hockey.
Also my comments in this thread are based on how I felt during his time in Calgary and how I wasn't a fan of giving him elite level dollars based on his performance in the playoffs. If he figures it out in Florida good for him.
