If you haven't seen Badlands you should, it is an all time classic movie
It was I think Malik's best, he got a bit ahead of himself after this but Badlands is stunning and unlike anything else other than the movies that pretty much copy it
Watched The Hunt, which I didn't realize was the movie that Trump and the MAGAs were all upset about until I started it. It's about liberals hunting down conservatives in a game.
If anything, the movie lampooned Liberals more than Conservatives imo, and was generally mostly a mess, although I'll concede the goal might have been to make fun of both sides, or of Conservatives more.
Only redeeming value was some early surprises. Stars, among others, Betty Gilpin, Hillary Swank, and Emma Roberts.
Also watched the remake of The Grudge, which I knew from the opening credits was going to be absolutely terrible and wasn't surprised by waht followed.
And finally, watched a movie from 2013 starring Anton Yelchin (RIP) called Odd Thomas, about a guy that sees dead people. A lot of the same themes as the Sixth Sense, but quirky enough to be interesting, even with the cliched ending. Yelchin's performance was really good, and Willem Dafoe was in it too.

If you want a good Yelchin movie track down 'the green room' even more creepy bearing in mind where the US is at now

VFW is an amazingly awesome 80s exploitation style splatterfest. Should be a staple of the midnight movie circuit once this lockdown ends. Didn’t take itself too seriously which is perfect.
Guns Akimbo was ok. Nothing special but I’d watch it for free. Funny in parts and some good action but more style than substance. Harry Potter was funny in it. Took itself too seriously which is not perfect.
Blood Quantum was more splatter fun. Canadian made First Nations zombie flick. Good take on an old story. Not the most tightly made film ever but worth a watch.

Watched Collateral for the first time in many years, and I think it's the best work of Michael Mann. Tighter and more focused than Heat, and Tom Cruise is fantastic as a true villain. I had forgot how many other big names were in it as well, Mark Ruffalo and Javier Bardem were great surprises
There is no way Collateral is better than Heat. Come on.

If you want to watch an older movie good for a few raised eyebrows and some giggles, watch The Last Supper.
Early roles for Cameron Diaz, Ron Perlman, Bill Paxton, Mark Harmon, Jason Alexander.
Its a black comedy about liberals and conservatives with a twist.
Location: A simple man leading a complicated life....
Exp:
Watched a good political thriller last night called "State Of Play" Has Rachel MacAdam's and Russel Crowe who as reporters investigate the mysterious death of Sonya Baker. Baker is linked to US congressman Stephen Collins (Ben Affleck) who could ruin his chances for a run as the next President

On PBS tonight they were airing the original 1968 version of Mel Brooks' classic: The Producers.
As nice as the modern remake musical is, nothing compares to Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel chewing scenery. I just love how well they play off each other.
this is just a small taste, but they have such a great feel for timing and mood in their scenes. The whole film is genius, even if it is a bit outdated. If you've never seen the original, it's a must watch.

I was surprised tonight I was on Amazon and saw the Condemned with Steve Austin. I expected it to be schlock and yeah it had that, but it was a solid movie with a good story line of convicts being forced to hunt each other for an online web show.
Violent as it gets, it was actually a solid movie and Austin did a great job of it.

If you liked that you might want to watch Gamer, with Gerald Butler. I didn't think it would be good at all, but it was actually quite entertaining.

You should both then watch Surviving the Game with Ice-T, Charles S Dutton, a coked to the gills Gary Busey, Rutger Hauer, and F Murray mfing Abraham. Now there’s a good film.

Now, now, lets all be honest....'coked to the gills Gary Busey' was the best Gary Busey.
And Rutger Hauer will always be 'Hobo with a Shotgun' in my eyes! RIP Rutger. You were a Gem!
