This is a nice story.

A woman in China who couldn’t afford a teddy bear when she was 13 years old returned 10 years later on Christmas Eve to find the shop owner had kept it aside for her.
The teddy reunion story went viral after the woman shared it on Weibo, with users calling it a “Christmas miracle”.

“Why did it take you so long to come back for it?” the owner asked her.

What really makes me happy is starting the new year with a new job. New hope, financial stresses lessened, less strain on my mental health leaving a job that's excruciatingly difficult.
The past year alone has been so, so hard. It's so nice to feel like there's finally some hope.

My brother-in-law and his wife had their second child. A whopping ten pounder.
Also, the Reuben sandwich from Breka.

Oh man, that was the best part of the cold snap Calgary had a couple weeks ago. My wife and I detailed the crap out of our vehicles and they looked like a million bucks for the entire duration of the cold weather when everyone else was rolling dirty.

Yeah that shiny feeling is so nice. Are there oleophobic coatings/wax/finishers that can really help to keep the vehicle looking shiny for longer?
I was looking at something like this...

I did ceramic coat my car last year (DIY) and it definitely helps keep it clean longer between washes. A spray like that right after a car wash would be cool to try.

Baby steps.
It's been a rough 8 years but we just got word my employer is reinstating the company match RRSP program. It was suspended when things went into the toilet in 2014 when oil crashed.

Was going at least 20 km/h over the speed limit as I approached a speed trap, but somebody was already pulled over.

I became a Canadian citizen yesterday. When I first came to Canada over 20 years ago, I fell in love with the place and I was lucky enough to have a Canadian girlfriend who was big into Cancon so I learned a lot about the country culturally (I remember reading her copy of Douglas Coupland's Souvenir of Canada and learning about stubbies and Ookpiks) and also travelled all over, visiting 9 of the 10 provinces (I still haven't been to Manitoba) but over time as I lived and worked here, it just became a mundane home, losing its novelty.
So I thought getting my citizenship would sadly just be an administrative affair, getting it done to stave off any immigration issues. However, yesterday saying my oath I got a little emotional. Saying it in French is what got me. As silly as it sounds it brought back memories of first coming here and hearing airplane announcements in both languages which was new to me at the time.
Unfortunately the ceremony is an online affair these days, so I was sat at home doing it in my office with 100+ other people. I would've preferred the big in person ceremony. Oh well, I was on a natural high for the rest of the day anyway, spending the afternoon watching my favourite Canadian cultural artifacts - classic NFB shorts.
