Canucks have signed Vinny Prospal to an AHL PTO.

Should be dressing for the Heat Games this Friday and Saturday.

Cundari's also seemingly fallen out of favour with the Flames organization since last year. Just based on training camp, I'd say Billins, Wotherspoon, Ramage and Sieloff are all ahead of him. Probably Breen, as well.

In other words, the Heat "lost" a player the club felt was their fifth or sixth-best defenseman.

Prospal will not be dressing tonight or completing his PTO. He announced his retirement this morning after talking to his family last night.

Would rather retire than be a Canuck. He's got my respect.

Apparently he felt he could have been signed to the League Minimum rather then the $2.5 he was making in Columbus.

I'm sure he'll end up playing for HC Motor České Budějovice before the year is up.

I just noticed Wotherspoon is leading the team in +/-. How is he looking this season? Does he have what it takes to crack an NHL lineup soon?

Reinhart takes a puck to the face and has left to the locker room under his own power. Puck bounced off his stick and into his face.

There was actually a story about this in the Abby News today: http://www.abbynews.com/sports/heat/news/241745651.html

He's improving, but I don't think we see Wotherspoon getting a Flames call-up this season.

It's either stitches or a smile adjustment. That puck went right into his teeth.

Baertschi (potential goal) waived off.
