he wasn't fantastic but it wasn't nearly as horrible as most of this year. Also, delpo is good at tennis. I think he'll do better next season, which is a low bar, but a such is the life of the 30 something athlete.

That's the truth. The top 10 will be an interesting bunch of players in 2014.

I think Milos and Jerzy will find there way into the top ten next year with Federer and Berdych falling out.

1) Nadal
2) Djokovic
3) Murray
4) Del Potro
5) Tsonga
6) Ferrer
7) Wawrinka
8) Raonic
9) Janowicz
10) Gasquet

The field in Paris this week is pretty impressive, only 64 players and seems like almost everybody who is healthy is there.

Pospisil drew Monfils, going to be tough on his home turf. 32nd vs 31st, might have an impact on aussie seeding next year. Got Berdych if he makes it through that, going to have to earn any points he gets this week.

Raonic has it easier, 1st rounder vs some newfie tennis player and winner of Haase and Istomin in the 2nd round. Raonic and Pospisil are in the same bracket and would meet in the 3rd round if the unlikely comes to pass.

Haase just defeated Istomin and will play Milos - I agree that Vasek will have a tough match against Monfils, he'll have to be at the top of his game.

Lengthy feature about Raonic on the ATP website:
http://www.atpworldtour.com/News/Ten...c-Feature.aspx

They touch on a lot of what we've been talking about in this thread actually.

Quote:
“The most important thing about the Grand Slams is developing a great routine,” said Raonic. “You’re not going to feel great for two weeks, that’s for sure. You sort of have to find your way through those matches, through those tough moments, mentally and physically. I think that’s definitely the most difficult part.

Monfils out of Paris Masters - LL Andujar takes his place

http://www.lequipe.fr/Tennis/Actuali...forfait/412660

Quote:
Andujar retired after losing the first set to Giraldo in final round of qualies, so another potentially ridiculous situation there.

Wow that's a big break, hope he can capitalize. Picking up 45 points from a win over Andujar would put him into the high 20s, would pass a couple guys right away and then goggles tipsarevic was a QF last year and will probably get passed too, he's on his way down the rankings fast.

A disappointing way to end the season no doubt, but still a very good year for Vasek.

Hasse must be getting tired of seeing Canadian tennis players - Milos took him out today in straight sets (6-3 6-4) at the Paris Masters. Milos faces Berdych in his next match.

Disappointing loss for Vasek... still amazing year to go from 141st to 32nd. Hope he picks up a few points the first half of next year so he doesn't have so much riding on defending his points at the Rogers Cup.

Milos needs to make the final to even have an outside chance at London, hope he can keep it rolling.

I like the way they clowned match point. Hasse hiding beside the line judge, and Raonic with the underhanded ace.

Berdych downs Milos in straight sets (7-6 (13), 6-4) - Those damn tie-breakers.

Ferrer (who upset Nadal) takes on Joker (who took out Feds) in the Paris Masters final.

maybe the final that people wanted to see least out the possible combinations. I'm not expecting too much drama.

Fed did his typical "turn back the clock 10 years for a set" before his carriage turned back into an old pumpkin and Nole rolled. Rafa well, he's just never warmed up to this indoor circuit. he's almost as disappointing in fall tennis as he is dominant in spring tennis. I had figured this year would be different though since he didn't really have a full 2013 season.

but at least Fed gets his 12th consecutive WTF entry...yay?

Joker wins in straight sets (7-5, 7-5) over Ferrer to take the Paris Masters.
