Do you have a link to the court decision?

Just from what his mom provided in the comments, which is below.

I dont see what that guy is so upset about. That looked perfectly fine, the kid was respectful...he just lost his mind.

Low emotional IQ people don't recognize when someone is being cooperative and continue to push their own projected neuroticism on the situation. He assumed the kid was a delinquent (he wasn't) and that he would bolt (clearly wasn't) or become combative (nope).
Evidently it wasn't just about a guy driving within 3 feet of him, it was the straw the broke the camels back for a ####storm of other things.
Give it ten minutes and someone else would pass at the same distance or closer.

I think he caught a glimpse of himself in the car mirror and the self-loathing manifested into blind rage.

"Car mirror" reference, typical Liberal dog-whistling.

He doesn’t cross the center line of a road with no shoulders when passing a cyclist. Thats wreckless.

Passing the center line could actually be illegal though, I can't make out the lines painted on the road from the video but this is a very, very dumb take.
He wasn't speeding, he clearly did move over from his original trajectory, and he was extremely level headed about the confrontation that resulted to boot.
Why was idiot cyclist not biking as far over to the right as possible if he is concerned about his safety? Judging from the video he's at least 5 feet from the curb. He's the wreckless jackass.

He did, you can tell by watching the video as both the centre line and driver’s side curb (which remains straight after the speed limit sign) move right on screen.
And it would be “reckless” not “wreckless.” But again, the DA’s office disagrees with you so time to take the L. Apology accepted in advance.

Yep. And her mom's response was civil, fair and non-confrontational. You can see why her son acted the way he did. I'd wager that he comes from a great family and upbringing.

We need to send people to rigorously study their parenting style because whatever they are doing, that is it.
But as you say, it's evidenced right there. Come from good, civil people, and you'll probably turn out similarly.

That’s the part that struck me. The cyclist repeatedly complained that the kid was being aggressive when he wasn’t at all. It veered into comedy when he said he didn’t feel safe and the bystander had to go away because he was being aggressive, and the camera panned to a kid standing there with a skateboard shrugging.

I think all the agro bullies went to a seminar where they were taught if you say those magic words - 'I don't feel safe' - you're allowed to lash out consequence-free. I've seen a few videos where psycho angry aggressive guys say that when they're clearly the person making everyone else feel unsafe.

The issue is that it was a close pass immediately into a left turn. It's definitely ######y driving. Does not excuse cyclist. Too bad there aren't a billion videos of motorists road raging and physically attacked each other to compare with.

He knew that was the only way he could get an immediate lights and sirens response. If he had told the truth who knows when, or if, they'd show up.

This provides more details. Dashcam says 2022 because it had been unplugged. This did just recently happen. Car driver had citation dismissed after providing dash cam footage.

The idiot cyclist should have been taking the full lane on this type of road to force proper passing action from the car behind him. He moves over a bit but I don’t believe from the video he is over the center line. To do this safely on this type of road the center of his vehicle should be in the center of the road. Anything closer than that is too close to the cyclist. People die because cars misjudge how much room they have on the passenger side.

The curb area is a really ####ty spot to ride. It's full of gravel, glass, broken pavement, drains, and all manner of trash. It is absolutely not the safest place to ride. So if you see a cyclist a few feet out from it, don't go wondering why, and think may be you can not give the safe space because they don't care about safety, either. That's not the case.
