The cyclist is crazy but the kid is a wreckless driver.

If you watch the dash cam that’s a road with no shoulders and the kid maintains the lane he is in. That is way too close to be passing a cyclist. He should have waited until the oncoming traffic had cleared and then moved over and passed appropriately.

Also, mom provided an update later:

"Update: The cyclist got a disorderly conduct charge - $160 fine, which he paid. My son received a citation at the cyclist's request, which the DA has since dismissed after seeing the exculpatory dash cam footage exonerating him."

Based on the court's decision, they would disagree with you.

People get hung up too much on words and on feelings as opposed to improving situations on the street and the lives of all involved. Adopted daughter at birth or a young age? Yes, she would be effectively a daughter. If she is not legally adopted but the family is more of caregiver, providing shelter, food and support during what could be a terrible mental illness/drug abuse situation? That is probably a bit different.

There are a million scenarios that could be playing out and my guess it may be one of the worst ones.
I disagree. Words matter, at least insofar as we are having a discussion on the internet. An adopted daughter is not "effectively" a daughter. In the situation described by the poster where they claim their daughter may adopt the baby, will they be introduced as their adopted grand daughter?

Highly doubtful.

I couldn't see #### in the dashcam video but I'm on my phone. Even if he got too close the old guy was totally in the wrong to be assaulting him and should be shamed for the bike nerd he is.

You can ride bikes without the goofy spandex.

I need to see part 2 of that, someone in the comments said they both got ticketed? Lol.

Honestly though that Kid has the patience of a saint. I consider myself generally patient but would have lost my cool by minute 4 of that video no doubt. That guy was unbelievable.

Of course not. I bet he doesn't even own a single piece of spandex. Kids these days.
Clearly he works hard so he can afford a car...

That was ridiculous.

And he slams the kid's car door into his bike. I'd be livid.

Ditto. They'd never have found that man's bike or his body.

Yeah the absence of reactiveness is rare in a kid his age. His parents are either incredible, well adjusted people or he was sheltered from all consequence and fears nothing as a result. Hard discern which it is from that clip.

The word adopted is used to distance the young woman’s behaviour from that accepted by people of the adoptor’s bloodline. If the resulting offspring behave appropriately in the future there will be no need to mention the genetics involved.

Probably a case of residual pandemic rage.

People were awkward and combative during that period of time before they re-integrated and re-socialized.

I remember going to a wedding that year and never experienced less social mingling in my life.

Or it just happened and that guys just a wackjob.

As a cyclist who gets buzzed by cars all the time I'm going to side with driver, the guy on the bike seems like a dick. I'm sure driver would have moved over more if a car wasn't coming the other way at the time, could he have slowed, sure but I have vehicles pass closer on a daily basis.
More of a "guy on a bike" than a "cyclist", labeling ever bad thing you see as a typical cyclist is part of the problem though.

The victim posted it on his TikTok, and I don’t think anyone who actually watched the video would actually believe he’s a “reckless driver,” as he did slow down and move over (after the vehicle passed, despite you saying he didn’t).
