I agree. Aside from download speeds being increased by allowing people to access available 4G networks there aren't too many improvements I would want on my iPhone. We don't have any 4G networks in Canada that I'm aware of so it doesn't matter to me anyway.
The camera is good enough for what I use it for. I don't even have the largest capacity phone so more storage isn't a concern.
I guess they could put in a built in video projector so I could show a movies or my display on a wall. That would be kick ass...
I would love the option of having the screen protector put on professionally. I've never been able to do it without at least one or two bubbles.

I made the switch a few weeks ago. I had the Bold 9700 for about a year and it started to have more and more problems. I was thinking about the Torch but it was just too bulky. I went for the Iphone4 and couldn't be happier. By far the best phone I have ever had, I can't beleive how much better it is than Blackberry.

Funny thing is switched from the exact same Bold as well. If that Bold did not come out in January, I would have gone with the Iphone3gs at that time, but went with the bold. Was not going to let that dumb decision do me in again, Blackberry sucks compared to the Iphone.

Only thing even remotely worth it in terms of a blackberry is the physical keyboard, and BBM. Other than that pretty much every single thing can be bested by iPhone/Android now.

On my Wife's iphone4, when she tries to check her e-mail it opens for about 3 seconds and then closes. We have re-booted it several times and it still does it. What is causing this problem? Do I need to do a restore?

Yeah, you might want to try to back up from an older back up. This happened to me but it was the iPod app.

There will not be 4G in Canada in for the foreseeable future so that is entirely irrelevant as far as iPhones are concerned. Telus and Bell are still working on their 3G network that is only a few years old, on which they spent billions.

I heard Shaw's wireless network is supposed to be 4G, and operational in the next 12 months. I heard it from someone who worked for Telus though, so who knows how reliable that info is.
For it to be relevant for the iPhone, it will require them to work on the proper bandwidth, which is the same as the phone they are (allegedly/hopefully?) coming out with for Verison

^ The problem is the massive grey area with 4G. If you've turned on a TV in the last 3 months you've probably seen T-Mobile in the States advertising "the nation's largest 4G network". But their "4G" is HSPA+, which AT&T has and calls 3G, Telus calls 3G+, Rogers calls it 3G... It's a major headache.
But like you say, Shaw apparently is looking toward LTE. Good luck to 'em.

For those wondering what to do with your 3G or 3GS' when you eventually upgrade...
Why not keep it and make it into the remote for your AV systems at home? My thinking is that it should be able to run the appleTV, and also be used as a skype phone, and browser in a pinch.
I may be crazy, though.

I sold my 3Gs last week for $330 on Kijiji...that would be a pretty expensive remote if I had kept it.

I was meaning when the glut comes. I think they will still be handy little devices around the house, even when they are worth less than a hundred on the resale market.

I have my old original iPhone (silver back) in a desk somewhere. A remote for the Apple TV isn't a bad idea. It has some cracks in the screen and it's not even supported by the new firmware. Might as well hold onto it as it wouldn't sell for anything that would be worth it.

Yeah I have a worthless first gen iPod touch and have since got an iPhone. Don't know what to use it for just yet...
Plus it has a cracked screen (not bad, mind you)

#1 App Everyone Should Have...
Fonehome
Allows you to create a free account and from your computer you can see where your phone is within 10m, set an alarm to go off which cant be turned off unless you do so from the computer and even allows you to take a picture and instantly see it on your computer.
Someone steals your phone... Log in on any computer, see where it is, set the alarm and when the person tries to turn the alarm off a picture is taken of them.

I'm still using my original iphone from when it was sold in the states way back... its pretty slow in comparison now to the 4g/3g.
Whatre the best uses for them once I get a replacement? just an ipod pretty much afterward? its at about 80% condition still somehow

3GS's won't become "worthless" when iPhone 5 comes out. They'll go down in value obviously, but it's still a very capable smartphone worth a few hundred bucks.

You quoted "worthless" so, I doubt you're referring to my comment above, but, who's going to pay $200 for a used phone with an internal battery and increasingly less software support? Apple purposely engineers obsolescence into the phone.

3G iphones are still routinely selling for $200+ and they're much more obsolete than a 3GS will be in a year. I'll be shocked if people with 3GS's in good condition can't get at least $200-250 for their phone this time next year if they sell privately.
