Even when Iginla scored the first meaningful goal yesterday, his celebration was what you would expect from someone who's been there before. Chill and classy.

At least you get coverage. In the US, all the best stuff is tape delayed so they can play it in prime time just for the sake of ratings. No idea why they can't show it twice.

More problems in the Richmond Oval. The Japanese skater thought there was a false start, but apparently there was none, the Russian kept going and eventually stopped (whether they stopped him or not). They are now on to pair 8, not sure whether the other 2 guys will skate again.
The one Canadian guy is currently in 3rd place, we have 3 more to go.

Now more delays, electronic timing issues.
This Richmond Oval sucks.

I'm happy Sweden scores. Serves the Canadians right for celebrating after scoring 13 goals.

So there is both men's hockey and the half-pipe going on as I type, yet CTV and TSN is showing women's hockey, and curling. Nice coverage there guys. Can't wait until the Summer Olympics when lawn bowling and dressage are shown over the mens 100M, and swimming.

You do realize just how stupid your argument is, right?
They are showing what they believe will draw more viewers. And, frankly, far, far, far more people in this country care about curling than they do a fringe sport like snowboard halfpipe. Likewise, Canada playing hockey > any other nation playing hockey, even if it is Canadian women vs. someone else's men.
The truth is, if more Canadians cared about dressage and lawn bowling, it would be broadcast ahead of the 100m and swimming.

Poor guys, already exhausted. Weird Olympics thus far. With all the delays, odd weather condition, and mediocre course management you have to question if the best are winning each event.

This is my first Olympics living in the US and their coverage is decent. They are great for hockey (show all the hockey games live for pretty much every nation!) Sweden-Germany is on right now on 1 channel.

Half-pipe is not just some fringe sport these days. Most would consider it one of the more premier events in the winter Olympics now. It is easily the most watched of the x-game sports. I am sure NBC will show the half-pipe finals during prime time.
Plus with how much men's hockey is hyped in Canada (even non Canadian teams) they really should show 90% of the games considering there are 3+ channels showing the games.

If by "most" you mean people who follow snowboard, then yes. But no, it is not a premier event in the Winter Games, not even in Canada. If it was, you can bet it would have had priority broadcasting on CTV.

Maybe not in Canada, but if we had anyone on the level of Shaun White, you better believe it would be. White just might be the most well known American at the Olympics, ahead of Bode Miller, Lindsay Vonn, Shani Davis, and Apolo Anton Ono.
Not showing White in the half-pipe is like CBC not showing a Michael Phelps prelim. Something I am pretty sure they never missed.

I was talking about this with someone on the weekend. There's just no point to women's hockey right now. At least not at the Olympic level, anyway. The level of competition just isn't where it needs to be.
It's embarrassing watching some of these games. The worst part about the whole thing is they're just absolutely ruthless out there. No compassion or sense of spirit at all. I get that it's a sport and goal differential is a tie-breaker and all that, but half the women they're playing against don't even know how to skate. It gets hard to watch. They whole celebrating thing is a real turn-off for sure.
