I'm guessing even Lochte would be smart enough to not wear his US Olympic gear

A+ for sneakiness there.

Interesting article with a somewhat misleading headline.

Bitcoin payments were about a month before. They were able to track the person down and it appears to be some guy from France whom they say had a suicide-like note about protecting the decline of western civilization.

Interesting reading about the use of Bitcoin and other cryptos for alt-right and white supremacy groups. Probably for another thread but it’s amazing governments haven’t cracked down on crypto

I think it's probably closer to 30% hardcore trumpers and 70% anyone but the Dems.

I don't know. If you willingly vote for a racist irredeemable deplorable, knowing full well what he's like after four years in charge, then that says an awful lot about you.

People who think bitcoin transactions can't be tracked are mistaken. The whole history of transactions is public in the ledger. Unless someone uses anonymous on/off ramps like btc atms, the FBI and others can track transactions.

Didn’t one of the police officers die after getting hit in the head with a fire extinguisher? I wonder if this guy is the murderer.

I don't think so. From the photo here, this looks like it was out in the open, but I believe the officer who was beaten to death was beaten up on the steps at a confrontation right at the entrance. (Though he certainly could have been involved in two different incidents with a fire extinguisher.)

Really interesting article involving interviews with some of the Capitol police officers we've all seen getting clobbered in the riot videos. Not sure it's been posted before.

Quote:
The officers at the West Terrace eventually pushed people away from the doors. It was only then that Fanone saw the immense, volatile crowd stretched out in front of him and realized what police were up against.

“We weren’t battling 50 or 60 rioters in this tunnel,” he said in the first public account from D.C. police officers who fought to protect the Capitol during last week’s siege. “We were battling 15,000 people. It looked like a medieval battle scene.”

Someone in the crowd grabbed Fanone’s helmet, pulled him to the ground and dragged him on his stomach down a set of steps. At around the same time, police said, the crowd pulled a second officer down the stairs. Police said that chaotic and violent scene was captured in a video that would later spread widely on the Internet.

Rioters swarmed, battering the officers with metal pipes peeled from scaffolding and a pole with an American flag attached, police said. Both were struck with stun guns. Fanone suffered a mild heart attack and drifted in and out of consciousness.

Edit: CNN also has an article based on same/similar interviews

theres a guy in Germany that cant remember his password for a wallet with around 220 million in, he's used 8 of his 10 password attempts!!

Apparently about 20% of all bitcoins are tied up in unopenable wallets
