Hillary markets herself on a first name basis, as does The Donald. I haven't seen you refer to the rest of Trump's gang as Steve or Paul or Rudy or Chris.
It's an annoying thing I've noticed on this message board over the years (and I don't know if you've been responsible for this in the past) where female politicians are only condescendingly referred to by their first name. See Rachel and Alison, but not Stephen or Tom or Jim or Naheed, though Trudeau does get referred to as Justin on here. Partly to presumably differentiate from his father, but also I can't help think that it's partly to play on his youth/inexperience/pretty boy looks.
Hillary is definitely to differentiate from Bill and she markets herself that way in order to differentiate her from Bill. I also don't think Hillary is used to make her appear dumber the way Rachel or Alison was used. Justin is used to diminish him based on is youth/pretty boy good looks
Id have to think about Stephen, Allison, but Jack Layton was Jack in a lot of conversations used positively.
I think in summary in many cases first names are used to denigrate a politician of either gender but also in cases like Hillary or Jack to humanize and make them relatable.

Why would Trump lose any support for hitting on the establishment? Bi-partisan, sure, but with the way they're structured their questions and moderation, of course he is going to hit at them. That way he can either use as a scapegoat, or get easier/more fair moderation.
Win/Win for him, and a "classic, Primary Donald" move.
Sure, everyone's in his cross hairs now. I posted that as the original quote could have been interpreted as him being done with the debates, the exact quote doesn't give that impression.

Sure. He's hit rock bottom so it's a win in that respect. No harm in more whining about being treated unfairly.

Have you met his base? Fighting the establishment and a broken system is a huge part of the initial appeal for them, and part of the appeal of him for Independents over Hillary.
The debate system being crooked towards Crooked Hillary is just further justification that the "machine" is working against him and for Washington Elites.

I believe you've confused "debate system being crooked" and "the machine working against him" with "basic human decency". Only in America could someone manage to sell the billionaire as the outsider and not elite. His con job on guys like you is really pretty impressive.

I know a number of folks from his base. As I said, this stuff only appeals to them.
He can whine all he wants about being treated unfairly. At this point, it only works with his base of supporters. I suspect many independents have swung for Hillary Clinton. His polls numbers have been obliterated. Sure that could change if something seriously bad is targeted at Clinton.
I'm surprised that the Trump rape allegations aren't getting more attention.
You'd think after everyone ignored the reports of Cosby's behavior for decades that they wouldn't just assume "gold-digger".
I think Harth's claims look totally validated now. The Epstein ones... I've got no idea. But Harth's are serious enough. There's certainly enough smoke to warrant a deeper investigation. I'm pretty confident Gloria Allred has got this and will take it as far as it needs to go, but with Trump already in freefall, I don't think it should be rushed as an election issue. But it also should not be dropped or forgotten once the election is over.
