I'd easily trade a 3rd for Nicks. If that's the deal then Grigson should be all over that.
49ers are looking for a receiver as well. They are one of the 3 teams who has made an offer for Gordon.

Josh Gordon on the 49ers? I think that's the only thing they are missing, is a speedy receiver with size (although you could say that about plenty of offenses around the league).

Belichek loves to whine.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ld-goal-tries/
Funny reading back on this thread and most people think that the player from NE didn't do it on purpose. He admitted to doing it later. Belichek's 1st whine is that the rule was it had to be from the 2nd level. He then admitted he was wrong and switched to "well they did it too." which the Jets didn't do anything close to it.
Jets need to lock up Wilkerson and Richardson long term. They could anchor what could be the best D-line in the NFL for a long time.

I don't think the Browns are trading Josh Gordon unless someone wants to come overpay for him. They'll be drafting a new QB next year and that QB will need weapons to succeed. Jordan Cameron and Josh Gordon would be a great tandem to have for that QB.

Also I just saw this on Twitter, but uh yeah...Peyton Manning = Good; Josh Freeman = Not Good
Josh Freeman had 16 overthrown passes Monday night vs NYG. Peyton Manning has 16 overthrown passes on the entire season.

Well rumor is that he might be in stage 3 of the substance abuse program so 1 more failed test and he is suspended for a year. However, any team inquiring about him would be entitled to that info so I don't think it's a go either way. It would have to be a creative trade ie 1st or 2nd rounder that falls to 5th if he is suspended anytime in the next year.

St. Louis called Brett Favre, asking if the 44-year-old QB if he would be willing to play. Favre declined. More to story on ESPN all day.
|
And Jeff Garcia lobbed the Browns a call this week that he's available. Jeff George needs to be contacted as well. Lets give Vinny Testaverde a shot too. But not Tebow haha.

In the end they signed Brady Quinn and Austin Davis LOL.

Really Brady Quinn was they best they could do?
You would think that Vince Young would have been a better option, at least he has done something in the NFL.
Edit: Forgot Jeff Fisher is St.Louis, that would explain not going after Young.

Jermichael Finlay was finally released from hospital today...so close to being a catastrophic injury for him. I do wonder what his future holds.
Quote:
Finley had been hospitalized, originally in intensive care, since Sunday. He suffered a spinal contusion in his neck area, causing temporary numbness in his extremities, after a hit he sustained during the Packers' 31-13 victory against the Cleveland Browns. He has been sharing images from his MRIs, CT scans and other tests with other neurosurgeons and spinal injury specialists and might visit other doctors upon being released.

I'm just not sure what to make of the Chiefs. What do some of you think the Chiefs record will look like at the end of the season? Their defense is really good and their offense is okay, although Charles is a beast. If they need to open it up and pass more (ie. trail in a game) can they? They've also had the good fortune of playing several 2nd or 3rd string QBs for a stretch. Are they for real? Do they have a chance to win the division and conference?

No.
They are a defense first team, and its a good one at that. However, the offense simply wont be able to score enough to keep up with a Denver or a couple other offenses.
They will make the playoffs, but dont think they will win more than one game.

Questions should be asked about Fisher. Not quite the game changer St. L thought they were getting to team up with Bradford and retake the NFC West. Bradford's actually gotten worse in the last 2 years, after getting better in his first couple years with turmoil around the team. Fisher's won 1 playoff game in the past decade. Losing the starting QB for any team is tough, but you have to question a coach when one of his first calls is to a guy who is 44 years old and out of the league for 3 years.

There was a story about 3 weeks ago where he was surprised that his son and mother wanted him to quit after the concussion he got earlier in the year, and it had him reflecting on things. After this close of an event, it'd be surprising if he plays again. IMO.

Thank god for that personal foul penalty at the end. I put a teaser on the under 46 and was yelling at the TV when they put the fg unit out down 18 pts with just over 1 minute left.
TB Coach is brutal

If Tampa doesn't fire Schiano, they are intentionally trying to go 0-16 and pray they win the tie breaker to get the top pick against Jacksonville. Really he should be fired tomorrow and replaced on an interim basis if they really wanted to win a game.

I'm a huge Chiefs fan, and I say no. At year end they are likely 11-5 and the number 5 seed. The defence has come together as Sutton really is getting everything out of the talent he has. I think their offensive line is a bit of a weakness and they lack another playmaker in the passing game. So combine that with a game managing QB and the offence lacks. But when they have been behind in games against Oakland, Dallas, Tennessee, and Houston the defence has been able to go on lockdown and the offence did get back into the game. Having a QB who can put up Tecmo Bowl numbers after you're down 21 points is nice. But if your defence can't get some stops...it's just fantasy numbers. So far the Chiefs defence hasn't let that happen, so the offence hasn't needed to deviate from it's game plan.

He's someone who has talked publicly about his kids fearing for his safety and well being. Wouldn't be surprised to see him just pull the plug now.

Not enough depth at WR and virtually nothing at TE. That will be their downfall. Are they for real? Yes. They're a quality team. A playoff team. Do they have a shot at the Division and Conference titles? I don't believe they do.
They were 2-14 last year. I don't think my comments are negative at all. They've come a long way in a short period. A great offseason and who knows!

They might not make the playoffs in a top seed, but once they get there all bets are off. Teams with a good running game and defense tend to do better than the all offense teams in the postseason.

Don't worry, the two teams have two games coming up and both teams will show what they really are at that point.
I don't believe Denver is all offense.
