I believe that's what Hanowski did last year. He signed with the Flames two days after St. Cloud was eliminated at the Frozen Four and then was called up to play for the Flames and played his first game the same day he was supposed to write a final at University: http://www.calgarysun.com/2013/04/15...s-warm-welcome
^^ Ahh ok that was my question, I understand the fact that he doesn't give up eligibility to write exams, I just was asking what happens if he is not physically there to write it because he is playing for Abbotsford. A legit concern with a great answer. Thanks.

I'm sure the final for the Communications degree or whatever all elite college athletes say they are taking can probably be done via Survey Monkey over lunch.

He's actually a Finance major.
Oh, and your stereotyping is a little dated.

1. Relax, I was just kidding around...although it's not a huge secret that a lot of athletes take the more general degrees to be able to focus on their game, and usually that degree is Communications.
2. What do you know....he actually IS a Communications major according to his Boston College profile!

I'm technically still enrolled in my classes. I'll do what I can to catch up on work. I wouldn't have been able to finish on time if I hadn't signed. I changed majors. I would have enough credits to graduate, just not the right ones. It's another semester or six or seven classes to graduate. I'm going to try to take summer classes and chip away at it. I can't finish it all in one summer, but I'm a young guy. I'm a finance major. School is important to me and my family. Whenever I'm done playing, if I have to go back, I can do it in one semester.
Evan Trupp is skilled as crap! He's very small. It says he's 5'10", but I don't know. Either way, he made some absolute snipes at practice today. Pretty elusive too.
Also, McKelvie skated today. He should be good to go.
Chicago Wolves @Chicago_Wolves 1m
BREAKING NEWS: #chicagowolves have traded Corey Locke to the Abbotsford Heat and have recieved Mark Cundari on loan from the Calgary Flames.
Loans are common at this time of year especially involving teams trying to make a playoff run. Both teams fill a hole. Heat get an older C man who can log ice time and win faceoff’s. Wolves get a tough D man who can log big minutes, play PP and PK and contribute offensively. A temporary fix and allows Calgary to retain the rights to an NHL ready D man. I understand the move but I think Chicago got the better of this deal.

1/2 #ChicagoWolves coach John Anderson said trade was made to improve "sputtering power play," which ranks last in 30-team #AHL. #stlblues

With Locke gone, the #ChicagoWolves still have six veterans on the roster after receiving Adam Cracknell from #stlblues earlier in the day.
Looking at his stats, he appears to have a few very good AHL seasons under him and should contribute regularly.
Plus, if you look at the roster comparison a few days ago, you could see that we had 3 holes to fill on forward and an excess of defence. This does effectively fill one of our forward spots. However, I'm not sure yet if I like the loss of Cundari.
Corey Locke's an awesome AHL player. He's basically the consolation prize for not getting TJ Hensick a couple of weeks ago.
Never a bad thing to have veteran scoring. It's good timing as well considering the college guys (Ramage, Jooris, Knight and Hanowski) are starting to slow down simply because they've never played this many games in a season before. Baertschi's struggling and Granlund has cooled off a bit. Street and Jones are gone as well.
It's a very good move. Sucks to lose Cundari. He's a great person and was just starting to play better, but Locke is going to be invaluable to this team I think. Especially since they're entering the second half of the season.
