To be fair, there are valid complaints about searching for anything in Outlook. If I want to look for a keyword in a massive email chain, it should be “ctrl-f”. But guess what, it isn’t because Bill Gates was the OG Elon Musk.
Maybe if they had an option in the search box for the currently selected email it would be sufferable. But no, all it does is find the emails with the searched-for text and then I have to go through extra steps by opening the email in a new window and then searching, instead of being able to single-click the email in my inbox and searching it within the reading pane. Why do I need the email opened in its own window to be able to run a search in it? Is it not enough that it’s the currently selected email and visible in the reading pane? Like, oh, maybe that should also be something available in the fecking search bar.

Lately I've been getting calls from people that say "suspected spam" but when I answer it turns out to not be spam and just from someone who likely makes a lot of phone calls to random people.
My costco delivery guys number showed up as spam. A realtors number shower up as spam.
I used to ignore a lot of those calls. Guess I'll just have to answer them now.

Sure, but she could at least try to look for an email before asking literally everybody else in the office to forward her the email she's looking for.
Also the concept of network drives flummoxes her.

MASSIVE gear grinder for me.
Or searching for a file in File Explorer. Holy Fack. Google can search the entire planet in microseconds but it takes this POS 10 minutes to search a single drive it has searched abillion times before? F Me.
My last job worked in Google suite. SOOOO much better. I would use word and excel to create the initial doc and everything else in google. Hot links. sharing, co-authoring, searching all so much better. #### microsoft with a giant limp dildo.

If it's a network drive that's an issue with your network admin not configuring search services. It mostly works fine, except for Server 2012 had a stupid bug where the search index just keeps growing, until it's filled your hard drive, which is awesome to have happen on a server. I ended up moving it to it's own drive, and nuked it every 6 months. This is a known issue, and did MS ever bother to patch it? Nope.

My wife used to work for someone who made $500K+ a year who was a technological moron but honestly a moron in general. Didn't do a damn thing herself analytically, just dumped bad instructions on people below her.
"Do this type of data manipulation and send it to me in 10 minutes."
"It'll take several hours to do this."
"No it doesn't. I was told you can do this in a few minutes with X program."
"We don't use X program at this company. We use Y and it doesn't have that feature."
"You're wrong, we have this program. The girl before you used to do it in 10 minutes."
"We don't have this program and the girl who has been doing this for you hasn't changed for the last 6 years."
It was mind boggling how someone as confidently incorrect as that like that was making so much money for so long and not at risk of being removed. That's basically a lottery ticket win.

Pro tip. One Costco in the city(the one with cheaper gas) has onions in small little containers!

Dad's cookies GMG. In a moment of nostalgia, I bought a package of oatmeal chocolate chip at the grocery store. I grew up eating these as a treat. Opened up the package and saw cookies that don't even resemble the ones I remember. Much smaller and thinner. Ate 'em anyway but solemly. You can't go back.

edit: lol, I'm like six pages behind. Was referring to Fuzz's bike lane pic.
Yeah, but swinging to the left on 10th during rush hour or school pickup/dropoff is tantamount to suicide. He shouldn't have when there's designated cycling infrastructure.

Hey we have one of the those in the office as well.
I really should have been more involved in the hiring decisions.
Thank god next week is my last week here.
At least in my new job I'll have to deal with new morons, but I'll get paid 50% more than now.

I think 90% of people and companies get corporate goal setting wrong. The trackable goals should be the things that if done will lead to a successful performance of your job. They aren’t extra things that could help the company.
If your job was building widgets it would be build x widgets and a 98% quality rate and perhaps Ensure that maintenance checklists are completed 95% of time. Ensure 12 safety audits are done.
They shouldn’t be the over and above things that if they don’t happen don’t affect the bottom line of the company. They also should be things that the company will appropriately fund and staff.

Goal setting is just a cover for managers and companies who can’t properly evaluate their team members/employees. Too many managers can’t tell someone what their team has done in a year so they need BS goals to form a meeting to try and figure out what exactly was done or what may need to be worked on.
