Sucks that US Open has a 5th set tie breaker at 6-6. Shapo needs to end it before then

Well, a veteran move by PCB, break up the momentum and roll that Shapo is on.

As Johnny Mac stated, not a stellar night for the linespeople tonight.

This match turned on it's head instantly. Kinda shocking. Looked like Dennis was in decent shape, now he's almost done like dinner.

Let's see if PCB tightens up serving for the match.

Oh my. How disappointing. Shocking ending, things just totally got away from Dennis at the end when he looked like he was right in it.
Looks like a savy move by Busta relaxing in the 4th when he was way down, got his back worked on forever after the 4th. Pretty smart.

What a match, don't like the results but hard to fault Shapo with his effort. At 21 his best tennis is still ahead of him. PCB played unreal as well, didn't give Shapo anything and made almost no errors very solid.

Not sure he’ll ever have a better chance at a major, with the big 3 out. Maybe years down the road if he doesn’t get surpassed by next gen guys.

This is a tough one because Shapo had a real chance of making the final. I think Thiem is going to win the tourney when it's all said and done.

Shapo seemed to lose his mental focus after winning the 4th set 6-0. He had everything in his favour and yet he completely lost it in the 5th and I wonder if he just had nothing left in the tank. I suspect this will hurt for some time, given the excellent opportunity he had to get to the Finals.
So sad to watch him fall apart.

Needed one of those two tiebreakers to go his way. After losing the second tiebreak set it was an uphill battle.
Reminds me of Game 4 against Dallas. Flames win and they’re in control of the series. Flames lose and they’re in panic mode. (ICYMI Flames Lost)

As sloppy as Shapo played at the end, it didn’t seem PCB was going to give him anything. I’d say you have to give him credit. He played all the big points near flawlessly.

A tough lesson in the dark arts of MTO tactics for Denis, plus excellent use of the bait set by Busta. Denis will learn in the future, once he got broken in the fifth it should have been right to the trainer. The tactics are there to be used, the notion of doing it "the right way" is also how you lose. Hopefully a good learning moment for him.
