I doubt there was much difficulty in fundraising for the rebellion.

Also, it would be a large investment to a weapon that would be very difficult to use. How often do aircraft of any kind get that close to each other?

I think you might be thinking about this too hard

luthen's quick annihilation of those ships and escape was a great moment . he's perfected what han was going for with a ship that had plenty of tricks up it's sleeve to get out of those encounters with the empire . he really doesn't **** around

was perhaps truly the first "oh crap" moment for the empire (at least in live action) that there were forces out there that could challenge and expose their ships and fight back

was a prime example of everything that was missing in the new movies . genuine surprise and excitement , and a bit of inventiveness that drove kids wild about the ships from the OG movies

The only issue I have with Andor is that while it's awesome and expanding the lore of the OT timeline greatly, we know it's all thrown away with the new trilogy. I really wish Disney had the balls to say "We ####ed up" and retcon the new movies completely from the canon

i think 90% of the fans are doing that collectively , even without an official retcon . I doubt any one is rewatching that trash and are over time suppressing the details of them from our memories

it would help if Disney plus just took them out of their sw collection , or put them in another section along with the sw holiday special

But you can hyperspace into other ships now tho...I mean, if you have enough gas.

Its kind of sad for me, because frankly yeah, I have no interest in the New Trilogy, I watched it, beyond being awful, it just wrecked key characters.

We can say a lot about the Prequels and they had some bad film making moments, but the lore and lore expansion was really very good, and it gave us things like the Clones, and the Clone Wars and the fall of the republic and the extermination of the Jedi, that was greatly expanded on with strong novel writers in the EU.

But the sad thing for me, is I started reading the new EU that started coming out with the Sequels, and for the most part the books are just plain awful, the new writers are just poor compared to some of the writers in the old EU, I would even welcome Karen Traviss back and her weird masterbatory fantasies about Bobba Fett and the Clones.

But with Ando, and Rogue One and Solo because they do fit well with the PT/ST time line and we don't get any of the elements of the ST, I'm fine with us.

I'm terrified that they're going to more strongly link Mando with the ST and that Grogu's blood thing means that he's Palpatines Clones father or something like that, and I'll never forgive the ST makers for absolutely sh%tcanning Palpatine and making him awful.

That thing to me, not Palpatine, it was a insane non Sith clone who created a stupid Sith Cult that had nothing to do with the Sith and built starships underground with a worse flaw then starkiller base.

The new trilogy is so preposterous that it feels like it's just in an entirely different movie universe. The Emperor controlling a fleet of thousands of death Star destroyers or a group of old timey bombers is so far removed from Andor, I can just pretend it doesn't exist.

Why even spend the insane amount of resources to build a death star? Just stick a hyperdrive on an asteroid and bam, planet killer. Rian Johnson really is the worst thing to happen to the Star Wars universe

Don’t worry, give it 20 years and it’ll be like with the prequels where instead of admitting they’re some of the worst movies ever made, you’ll have people all over the internet defending them to the death acting like they’re actually the best 3 Star Wars movies.

My initial reaction was 'What are you talking about?'

And I remembered that there were actual space horses. Presumably for reasons.

It was also a major plot point in ROTJ that star destroyed could physically block ships from escaping via hyperspace. Whoever wrote that part of TLJ didn't watch ROTJ though.

Yeah, but the ship in TLJ didn't escape using hyperspace, it used hyperspace to crash into the enemy ship.

In RTOJ all the rebel ships may have been able to do the same thing, but they would have all died if they did that.

But they never show us Space Gas stations though.

Where does one even procure space gas? I just assumed they operated on reactors or something.

Well on the Imperial side Star Destroyers were powered by hyper matter reactors. Tie fighters were powered by ion engines, linked to generators so they didn't need fuel. AT-AT walkers were powered by a reactor. So the Empire didn't use fuel. they used all sustainable renewable energy.

I guess the Rebels beyond being proponents of chaos and suffering in the galaxy were galactic climate change deniers who used the rotting decomposing bodies of ewoks to make Gasoline for their ships.

Don't all ships have a hyperdrive? I mean, Luke wasn't travelling to Dagobah at some paltry speed in his x-wing. Any rebel that was going to kamikaze into the death star or star destroyer should have just jumped to hyperspace instead of merely crashing like some chump into the surface.

God dammit Porkins, you could have been the hero.
