Bautista gets one for admitting he was trying to send a message after being unhappy about being hit with the pitch.
Bush deserves more for the intentional bean though, and the Rangers managers should have received a game as well.

I think usually I'd agree with that, but in this case it turned into a total gong show and Bush lit the fuse. We all know what he was doing, you'd think MLB would give him a game or two in light of what he started. I would have given Odor at least 10, probably closer to 20, and Bush a couple games. I don't have a big issue with the rest.

Would have liked to see 10-12 for Odor - he basically turned a hard slide and an exchange of words into a full on brawl with his aggressiveness. Nothing would have happened if they just jawed at each other for a few seconds and then someone comes in a breaks them up.
Disappointed Bautista got anything - his late slide into second caused an auto-double play, that was penalty enough.

Alright... can you provide actual empirical evidence that it's not bad luck? Because I can point to the oddly low BAPIP... so unless you can quantitatively explain how that's not a function of random variation then I'll continue to maintain that the hitting is just having an early season run of bad luck.
Albeit I'll grant that the team wide propensity for K's is a bit concerning.

That's always been dumb. The guy with the first infraction gets nothing after being the instigator? It's backwards.
Heck... the Jays should call up Hutch for a start the next time they play the Rangers, then bean Desmond in the leg, then put the real starter out for the 2nd inning. If their starter retaliates after the inevitable warning he'll get tossed. Advantage Jays.

I'm not negative, i'm a realist. People trying to say there are signs of life in the Blue Jays are delusional. Watching this team, there is no way you can objectively say that there is. The way this team is playing they'll be out of the race by the the start of August and unlike last year, they have absolutely nothing left in the minors to cheaply augment the roster for a 3 month push.
I would have preferred to been wrong, but with each and every week, everything I've said all off season seems to look more and more like it's going to play out that way.

The only thing this team had going was the starting pitching, and now it's starting to flounder.
Hard not to be frustrated when watching the Blue Jays....

Maybe some crappy pitching will remind the hitters they need to do something too.

Hilarious how funny it is to watch the Jays flail away at the offspeed stuff, Archer hung that breaking ball in home run territory 3-1 and instead Donaldson just watches it.
