what would even be the point of Littlefinger being the father? if he is, then Robin's not legit and thus control of the Vale would go to someone else who's probably not so easily manipulated. the way things are right now, it's perfect for Littlefinger...Robin does exactly what he's told as long as he gets a bird-related gift every few months.
In the show isn't Robin the last heir of House Arryn?
that's a thing I don't get about these great houses. all these families have existed for thousands of years. I get that there's a primary line, but even if that went extinct, there has to be a bazillion others that share the same last name. are relatives not at all in the line of succession?
guess it doesn't matter since as we all know, the power goes to whoever the people want it to go to. but I just don't get how a major house can go extinct unless every last branch of their giant family tree is eliminated.

I don't think they really do go extinct (unless you become the story behind the "Rains of Castamere".
As for the Arryn family tree - I think the TV show I think is mute on if John has siblings. If he does, then the family line would follow the male succession patterns I believe (unless you are some specific Dorn houses I think).

Yeah, but the assassination isn't evidence of Littlefinger fathering Robin. Lisa's been cluelessly devoted to Littlefinger for years without reciprocation, IMO.
Agreed, but it does lend to speculation.

The great houses all get married off to other great houses. That is how John Arryn and Ned Stark figured out that Joffery, Tommen, and Marsella where not Robert's children. They have a big book of all the noble houses and every time a Baratheon and Lannister had kids, they had brown hair not blonde.
All the noble families are related to each other in some way. I think in some ways any of them could lay some kind of claim to the others lands and titles technically.

What I find funny about it all is the outrage. Real Royal families have not been all that far off from this for centuries.

Is there any confirmation that they're going to end this in two 6 or 7 episode seasons?
The producers have all but guaranteed that there are 13-15 hours left in the series. I guess until HBO announces it though, it's up in the air to an extent.

Thats sort of what I figured. I know they said they wanted to end it early, but I really dont want them to rush it and find out that this has all been a dream that Roseanne had while in a coma at the hospital.

Arya is really a normal teenager from a small town in England. The whole series is a daydream she had during math class. Kit Harington plays her mild mannered teacher who wakes her up. The Hound is really the janitor.
