The power is still out east of 6th street. I'm on 7th and 18th ave - we've still got power. My band rehearsal space is in a basement near you though - I just walked over to check and it's still dry down there. That's as much as I know right now.

I was one of many flood porn tourists who took a stroll through downtown this morning. It was eerie. Almost like a hurricane evacuation. People streaming north on Centre; 40 cars out for every 1 coming in. No power anywhere, except from generators powering various fire alarms. The cops and fire crews were pretty good about it, so long as people respected barricades and didn't get in the way. Though I was one of a bunch of people chased off the train bridge over MacLeod. Some pics, put in spoiler tags for convenience:

Looking at MacLeod Trail north from the CN train bridge between 8th and 9th Avenues. Water had come up within a foot of the celing of this bridge:

DO NOT take crowchild, they turn you back at BOW trail, or force you through a convuluted route that someone told me too 1.5 hours just to snake through DT.
Amazingly, we have people that are buying cars today here. We are on high ground. Unfortunately our Inifiniti Delaership is taking on water, as are all the Luxury Dealerships just across from the river there off of Heritage. This is gonna get expensive for the insurance companies.

I'm amazed they're not seeking volunteers for anything. Sandbagging, etc.
How's the stores/gas stations/malls doing?

I cannot see sandbagging being remotely effective at this point.

Sandbagging wasn't remotely feasible at any point.

Sounds like we are neighbours. I'm 7th st and 17th ave.
Are you planning on evacuating? We are right on the line.

Apparently, the only Bow river crossing that is open between Stoney Trail NW and Deerfoot by Anderson is the 14th Street Bridge.
In fact that's the only crossing open that's not part of the ring road or Deerfoot.
