I was at the game in KC on Sunday and three different planes were circling the stadium before the game with the following banners.
"Face it Chiefs fans. Tightwad Clark doesn't care"
"Fire Pioli, Chiefs fans deserve better"
"Blackout Arrowhead, Nov 18. Saveourchiefs.com"
People are getting fed up with this historically bad performance. Especially when the person most responsible for this mess stated that "I could win 2 games with 20 people off the street" when he was hired four years ago. Now that he has personally assembled the "right 53" it will be a miracle to win that second game.
Anyhow, good times in the Chiefs Kingdom.

The proceeds for the first plane a couple weeks ago were raised in less than an hour on line. I don't think it will be a total blackout (if you go to saveourchiefs.com, you will see that some fans look at the blackout as not being a passionate Chiefs fan). However I think there will be a strong black showing in two weeks. Especially if the Chiefs get their ass handed to them on national TV tonight and next Monday night.

According to Adam Schefter. The Chiefs are the first team since the 1929 Buffalo Bisons to not hold a lead through the first seven games of the season. Bisons folded after the season.

Patriots acquire Aqib Talib before the trade deadline...
Quote:
The NFL’s trade deadline has just passed, and in a bit of a surprise, a significant trade has just been made
.
Aqib Talib, the troubled but talented cornerback who has spent his entire career in Tampa Bay, has been traded from the Buccaneers to the Patriots. There’s no word yet on what the Patriots gave up to acquire Talib, although it is likely a draft pick.

Talib is a good, if somewhat overrated player. Those who talk like he can be great or elite really need to watch him get torched by Hakeem Nicks this year. Still for the awful Patriots secondary its an obvious upgrade. Hope the Bucs got at least a 5th for him.

Great trade for a 4th rounder (Tampa had to include a 7th but they had an extra one anyways).

Stoked about this trade. finally some real talent in the backfield. This will make McCourty better to and Dennard looks like a 7th round steal. Pats are definitely moving to man cover and press coverage with that being the skills of Talib and Dennard. Wouldnt be surprised to see more McCourty as the FS. His biggest flaw is turning for the ball, this way he gets to face it.

Talib is a good rental. If he cleans up <sic> and plays lights out he is up for a new contract at years end...either in NE or elsewhere. Good risk.

No real shocker that it didn't work out in Tampa, the Bucs knew the risk when they used a 1st rounder on him. Headcases don't usually make good 1st rounders, ask Pacman.
Will be interesting to see if the Pats manage to clean him up, they've been known to do it before.

Is this what chiefs fans have had to watch all year? Yikes. Gaetz just abuses Eric berry Just like the earlier meeting.. I'm not even sure why they continue to use him on the te.

San Diego has a near blackout every weekend, yet, Smith and Turner are still around.

Can you believe they have played 8 games now, and yet have never led once? Not even for a second; the only game they won was that comeback win against the Saints in OT, but they never actually led in the game.
How embarrassing is that? Even when the Lions went 0-16 a few years back they were in contention in many games, but this Chiefs team is probably even worse than they were (if that's even possible). Heck their schedule has been on the easier side as well, so things will likely just get worse from here on out.

Can you believe that their are Chiefs fans who actually think Scott Pioli is a good GM and the Chiefs are lucky to have him? Talk about blind faith.

Blackout as in wear black to show the fans are in mourning. Not, a blackout by not showing up at the stadium at all.

That was a pathetic display last night. Can't say that I expected much more from this team after watching them through the first half of the season, but that was just horrendous.
I am beginning to wonder if Crennel isn't part of the problem though. Sure, the offence is brutal and they have no QB. We probably all agree on that (although Charles, Bowe and McCluster seem like great pieces). The defence though, despite having guys like Hali and Berry really can't make a stop. The team isn't much better/worse than when Haley had them and at least he was still winning a few games with Charles, Berry and Moeaki all nursing ACL injuries (and even Matt Cassel out with an injury).

Chiefs definitely have a very talented team, they just are a mess right now. They need to clean house from GM on down and obviously draft a QB with what will likely be a top 3 pick.

Crennel is a huge part of the problem. His hiring is another display of the shortcomings of Scott Pioli. He was lazy in his hiring of Todd Haley (flavor of the month) and he was even lazier in his hiring of Romeo Crennel. I love Romeo as a DC, but as a head coach he is way out of his league. He proved it in Cleveland and he is proving it once again in KC.
I think the real fear for Chiefs fans right now, is that Clark Hunt retains Pioli after this season. And allows him to f*&^ up the first overall pick.

I have to disagree with the "very talented" comment. They have some talent, just like every other NFL team has. They lack depth at pretty much every position. The coachs are putting on arguably the worst performance in NFL history. The GM is a moron. And you really have to wonder how competent Clark Hunt is at running a football team. Things have not gone well since he was put in charge with the passing of his father. Coincidence?
