I had this issue a while ago. Reboot fixed it IIRC.

You can start one in the Tech section of Calgarypuck. Fanin80 will immediately label you a Fandroid though, even if he isn't exactly sure what it means.

Decided to go to movie (haven't done this in YEARS). Seeing Lincoln, 2.5 hours long.
Which theatre has more comfortable seats, Eau Claire or Crowfoot?

Yellow Tail Cabarnet-Sauvignon... Best wine for the price IMO. Youll find it with the Australian wines.

That doesn't sound as bad as being an Apple Fan Boi.

Blech. You can do much, much better for 20 bucks. I would almost prefer Lucky Lager.
Edit: That sounded really snobby. Just ask the dude at the liquor store to recommend something in your price range. So much more out there than Yellow Tail. 50% chance someone will bring it to a get-together, so I guess I'm sick of seeing it.

Why is the cost of custom wall frames so high? I just don't understand where the $300 goes to.

I think I just cockblocked a good friend of mine. I didn't mean to, but apparently his girl saw his phone and decided to leave. If you're wondering what I did, I sent him some really nasty (non-sexual) photos. He's pretty pissed right now.
What do I say to him tomorrow?

Girl I've been in a relationship with for 1 month (not even) basically cried last night when I told her I was going to go to the strippers with some work friends. So I told her I wouldn't go. Now today she wants to set an anniversary date so we can spend that day of the month together.
I'm really bad at relationships and have been guilty of being a man whore... but does this not strike anyone else as really bad clinginess? I'm completely freaked out and I can't tell if that is a normal reaction to the last 2 days or just me having an adult relationship for once being new to me.

I am going in for my review tomorrow. I have been with the company 9 months.
Without getting into too many details, I have "ruffled some feathers" within some of the management. I have been basically asking for direction on some projects and not getting it. Also being proactive with others, and then getting my hands slapped. A lot of the time I feel helpless and like my hands are tied. I get one manager telling me one thing, and then my direct manager telling me another. Kind of a "damn if you do, damn if you don't" situation.
I am very anxious about what is going to be said in the review. I have decided to go in with an open mind.
So I guess my question is this: I they decide to let me go, do they have to give me written reason on the spot? What is the protocol? I've never been fired...so this is new to me. Of course this is a worst case possibility, and I'm hoping this doesn't happen.

Seriously though, nothing to add except good luck. Hope it turns out well, and let us know how it goes.

Did you discuss any of your issues you had with the lack of direction with anybody that could support that you weren't just acting insubordinate but rather had differing sets of directives?
Incidentally, if one manager is giving contradictory instructions, you should let both managers now of this, so they don't think you are going against what they asked.
I have had similar issues in the past, manager says one thing, and company president comes along and tells me to do something else. Basically I just told my manager about it and let him get a better handle on the channels of communication.
You should bring it up first thing in your meeting, so the reviewer is aware of the conflicts you were facing, and it doesn't sound defensive then if they bring it up during the review.

I have brought it up MANY times. In e-mails, communicator, on the phone. Both my manager and the other managers should know by now that I'm stuck in the middle. I just the feeling that my direct manager may not by the type to tell the other management to back off.
I'm very conflicted. I have trouble sleeping at night (for the past 2 months), I constantly think about work and pleasing each manager, etc, etc. The worst part is that I saw a promising career with this company, and I have worked really hard to get the required courses and certifications done.
A lot of my friends and family say I should just move on, but I have job hunting and I hate to give up.
