they have to keep the prices low when they can't even sell out every league game, or champions league game

Hargreaves released by City.

As much as that is great for City fans, I have a feeling now they have a title, a very rich owner, the clubs out goings will spiral as they will want more trophies, so I dont think they will remain the best value for money for long.

Maybe Drogba, Owen, Hargreaves and Anelka can get together and start up a team of misfit toys.

I live a block from the stadium where Shenhua plays here in Shanghai. There has been talk all year of the team getting Drogba, and it wouldn't surprise me at all because of the money that would surely be thrown his way.

The team is brutal though. Really, quite poor to go watch. Even with Anelka they're not close to winning the Chinese league.

I initially thought it might have been slang: Terry = scary. Probably not. Would be very few of Arsenal's cadre of international (non-Brit) players that would understand rhyming slang.

Joey Barton got suspended for 12 matches.

Four for the original Red as it was his second for violent misconduct and another 8 for the 2 counts of violent misconduct against Aguero and Kompany. JB denied the charge against Kompany, but it was found to be proven.

I reckon they could have tagged on a suspended ban on top of that in the vain hope it would go some way as an incentive not to be such a scrote.

Maybe we should go out for a few Britneys and discuss it?

So the FA decides to ban Barton for 12 games, but appealed a 3 game ban Rooney earned through similarly violent conduct. Makes sense.

Rooney was throwing elbows and headbutts?

When was this?

He kicked someone from behind

I don't know how you can place a standard on which is worse, all 3 are idiotic and come from players with a history of violent conduct

Yeah, similarly violent conducts ... totally.

Seriously, Rooney kicked a player from behind and received a straight red. He later officially apologized. Barton on the other hand had three suspendable actions in just a minute or two, is a repeat offender (second red card this season) and also warranted his actions later via those brainfart tweets.

Rooney received a total of three red cards in his career that spans nearly 500 games. Barton is a repeat offender who in the past attacked a teammate in training and also stubbed out a freakin cigarette in the eye of a teammate.

Barton deserves the ban. I'm pretty happy that the FA decided to ban the lunatic for an extended period of time. I won't miss him.

I get that.

He did NOT however elbow or attempt to headbutt someone. It is NOT similar violent conduct with reference to the 12 games as stated by the OP. He is either seriously confused or sadly attempting to misrepresent Bartons punishment to Rooney.

not saying Rooney is anywhere near as bad as Barton

he does seem to receive preferential treatment from the FA at times though, which with him being their best talent isn't that surprising and I can't say I blame them for it
