Updated egg list. I think its really to make space for gen 2 eggs. EDIT: Spoiler for size.
This event and the double candies have been good so far.
Up to pokedex 147 and only a bit away from being regionally complete.
Missing:
Gyarados (330 candies needed)
Elekid
Magby
Is there good way to get a lot more 10k eggs? The vast majority I get are 5k with the occasional 2k one here or there.

Good changes to eggs. In the pogo world, the was little more disappointing than a Scyther, Onyx or Pinsir from a 10km egg.
Haven't played for weeks, maybe I better head out this weekend.
90% of eggs are 5km now. I don't think anything can be done.
No Magikarp in Calgary must be annoying. Would be a great time to catch some, at 8 candies per. Hopefully a nest will show up there in next migration.

I live in the SE end of Airdrie and the pokestop in my community has a Magikarp nest. I'm 12 candies away from evolving a Gyarados but a few weeks earlier the spot actually spawned a Gyarados.

Is the nest still there after the event started and migration happened? Any chance you can point out which stop to me? Airdrie is super close to swing by since I have to goto Cross Iron this weekend anyways.

Hatched a Magby this morning out of a 10k.
Pokedex 143
Still need:
Dragonair (currently walking, need 3 more candies)
Kabutops
Gyarados
Dragonite
Pichu
Elekid
Togepi
Togetic
Haven't made any progress on any of those, other than by walking. Extra buddy candies cut 20k out of my walk for Dragonair.

Kings heights is the community and it's the Amphitheater pokestop.
It's not as crazy as it used to be as there used to be two at the stop regularlybut they still do appear often enough.

Obviously there will be a few spots where Magikarp tend to spawn, but not necessarily a nest. With every nest migration, there has been at least one nest like this here. It's not very fair that it isn't at least somewhat the same everywhere:

Been walking my Snorlax to get candy to power one of mine up... ran into a Snorlax this morning! 6 easy candy!
Got 4 Snorlax now, 2612, 2157, 1687 and 870.
Still looking to hatch Togepi, Magby and Elekid.

Happened to come across a Chancey and a Hitmonlee in the last couple days to take my pokédex up to 141. They weren't even in the Nearby, I was just lucky to be looking at my phone at the right time!
Of the baby pokémon I've hatched a Cleffa and Magby. Magby of which I had one, before getting two 10km eggs in a row that were both more Magbys :/

There is nothing like that in Calgary, I've been checking the last few nest migrations and nothing on Silphroad got reported. Too much grass/forest/residential and urban biomes and not enough river and reservoir biomes. Proportionally less nests because of this.
Glenmore reservoir only has like 1 Magikarp in the whole area right now. Nuts.

If anybody is in need of Omanytes. The Sandstone/MacEwan Community Rink is a Omanyte nest. Looks to usually spawn early mornings and late evenings.

Eldrick: I used to live 15 minute walk up Maisonneuve from that nest lol.
FlameOn: I guess I shouldn't mention that I'm on my 7th Gyrados now. I don't think karps nest, but they frequently spawn along the river. I commute basically from PIP to 14th st along the river daily. I pick up 3-5 a day. You should spend some time on the pathways while the weather holds up.

Got my dragonair, now walking Kabuto.
Rediculously far to walk for each of the last three:
Kabutops - 200 km
Gyarados - 233 km
Dragonite - 500 km
I've walked 795 total km in 6.5 months according to the game.

705 km for me. Hoping to hatch Togepi before this event is over for the double candy, so I can get to Togetic quicker.
Got a ton of Magikarp around the river when I was playing more often. Working on my 4th Gyarados.

Nice on those 7, and your former residency. Some tough grinding to get those in Calgary, obviously.
I have 10 Gyarados over 3000CP (and I sent all of them (4 or 5) to professor that evolved with Twister), but I'm pretty sure I worked way less for those 15 than you did for your 7.

Nice, glad to here gen 2 is coming. Hopefully that means trading will be soon as well.
New berry information.
Quote:
Berries
Some more berries were added while the existing ones got an additional attribute growth_percent with the value of 0.1 for all berries. This means with a total number of 5 berries the grow chance is 50 %. This hints to a new feature for Pokémon Go in growing your own berries but maybe having some miss growing of the remaining 50 %. (This can change until implementation)
The berries have each different effects while they are pretty easy to read out of the new changes. I would like to go through them all:
Razz Berry: ITEM_EFFECT_CAP_CHANCE_SINGLE_THROW we obviously know that Razz Berries increase the capture chance for encountered Pokémons for a single throw. The effect percentage is 1.5which is the current capture multiplication value for Pokéballs.
Bluk Berry: ITEM_EFFECT_CAP_NO_MOVEMENT this is a hint for the berry's ability to disable the movement of encountered Pokémons (jumping) for item_effect_percent: 1 (100 %, while item_effect_percent: 0 is also written just below this. Prepare for changes of the live value, all other "new" berries do have a second item effect percentage of 0, too. I will not mention it again in the further post). What remains unknown, do you have to multi throw them like the Razz Berry or is one throw is enough, no SINGLE_THROW meantioned here and in the others' texts.
Nanab Berry: ITEM_EFFECT_CAP_NO_THREAT like the Bluk Berry, this berry makes it easier to land your Pokéball throw by disableing the Pokémon's animation - here the threat or "attack" animation is disabled when you throw this berry. The current effect percentage is 100 %
Pinap Berry: ITEM_EFFECT_CAP_TARGET_SLOW this is an interesting berry ability since it could mean you can prevent the Pokémon to flee for a given percentage of item_effect_percent: 0.75 resulting in a flee percentage decrease of 25 %
Wepar Berry: ITEM_EFFECT_CAP_TARGET_MAXseriously, what is that? For me it is a Master Ball hidden in a berry. We will see how it turns out. In my opinion it is a "Game Master Item" meaning, that you probably won't have access to it as a normal player. (This berry might more probably modify the capture circle, maybe throwing "Excellent" already when you just hit the circle at all.

Haha. New apk can be downloaded if not yet available in play store.
Among other cosmetic updates, a bit more customization is available for avatars.
For example, girls can wear short shorts but boys may only wear pants.
Pokemon Ho?
