Interesting article about a WSJ article quantifying which announcers talk the most and the least. Not surprisingly the Legend Vin Scully is #1. Our boy JC is third last. Why does it seem to me like he should be second?
Quote:
It seems kind of monumentally pointless, but I guess I can use this as a way to [Fata] on our favourite Ginger—because it turns out that, surprisingly, Jamie Campbell’s misplaced confidence allows him to belt out the third fewest words-per-minute-- a mere 62.66-- just ahead of the comatose Duane Kuiper (55.44) of the Giants and the Padres’ Mark Neeley (61.64).

Halladay pitching really well tonight. Only allowing one hit so far, just a single. It's good to see Halladay pitching well again. Usually you can rely on Doc to be the one bright spot, but lately his struggles have only made being of a fan of the Jays more painful. So, ya, nice to see Roy dummy the Yanks.
Just struck out Hinske, 9Ks.
Update, just one hit shut out the Yanks. ROY RULES!

That was quite amazing. The cutter and the sinker were dancing like a puppet on a string there tonight. The only unfortunate thing is we don't get to watch that every game for the Jays.

Anyone watched last nights game (Tues Sept 8) vs the Twins? J Mac went 3/4 with a homer that just barely cleared the wall. Impressive!!!

Lowest recorded Jays game attendance in Skydome/Rogers Centre history.
Way to go Jays, way to go.

Only 11000 fans at the game tonight - the lowest attendance in the history of the Skydome…

11,000 fans to see Roy Halladay pitch and a player considered to be the best Canadian player in the game. Ouch is right.
I gave Gaston a lot of credit early in the year for how the team was playing. But recently it seems like he's let the team take on a real sense of malaise. He does have a bit of a turkey laden team, but he hasn't done a whole lot managerially to try and coax more out of them.

Lose 1 to win 2 later isn't going so great.

Cito's record as Jays manager is now below .500, and is worse than Gibbon's record. (after the same number of games)

How is this not good news! He bats .240 with a .270 OBP!
These are the types of players this team no longer needs!

Another small crowd of 11,461 to see the Jays win at the Rogers Centre this afternoon. (302 more than last night)

Fair enough. I guess Chavez has a good arm.

Barajas signing elsewhere will get the Jays two draft picks. Of Course he's not coming back.

I'd like to see Chavez backing up a rookie next year. Arencibia or Jerolman - whoever has the better camp.
Actually, what I really want to see is a blockbuster where we get Morneau and Mauer but that's just silly.

I highly doubt Rod the Bod is a Type A - we'd be lucky if he was a type B.

I suspect a 35 year old catcher may be going into spring training on a minor league deal next year. The league is getting younger and veteran guys who are average type producers are probably going to find it really tough to get solid contracts this winter.
