All the pressure is on Beiber to get through 6 or more.

Ohtani should be exhausted to pitch 6, which is a usual start for him, but he probably won’t look like it.

Who knows what either bullpen will look like but if none of the Jays bats have any confidence after a terrible last 2 games at the plate, it may not matter.

Hey, I'm looking for silver linings here.
would you have him lead off?

Maybe Clement should lead off, although he's cooled off a bit

Bieber has to go a solid 6. It's simply his responsibility to do so. As for the bullpen, aside from Lauer and Little, most of those guys did an inning, so they should be fine to go (I guess somewhat of a saving grace for Schneider not keeping some of them in longer). I'm more concerned about the bats being alright to outscore LA.

Blue jays at their best when their backs against the wall. Just when we think they are done they win.

Ohtani isn't pitching 8 unless he has extremely quick innings. His max this year is 6 and 100 pitches.

Plus even though he was just a DH he was playing for 18 innings last night.

I don't see how they can keep Bo in the cleanup spot. It's handicapping their lineup so much later in the game if he can only play ~6 innings.

Ohtani has been building up this season. Didn't start until midway through the year, and then just 1 or 2 innings. I think he has gone 6 innings his last three starts.

The guy is superhuman and does things no one else can, so you have to expect he will deliver for the Dodgers. Good defense and timely hitting are going to be important for the Jays.

If Springer's out (probably), Bo will DH and he should be able to go all game

I didn't panic when this team was down 2-0 and looked rough both games in the ALCS, sure as heck not going to panic now down 2-1. I'm just bummed that I can't watch the game tonight....not sure if I want to record and watch later or just give myself hourly updates. Just get it back to Toronto and anything can happen.

I wouldn't say I'm panicked. Just irritated because that game should have never had to go to extra innings if lessons were learned from game 5 against Seattle.

If a lineup without Springer, who leads off?

And seattles mistakes in game 7. What’s the point of leaving your closer on the bench in the bottom of the 7th? That was LA’s best chance to tie and we trotted out our 3rd best guy.

If we go Bassitt or Hoffman in the 7th and the 8th and get relatively clean innings (limited baserunners) then you bring Dominguez in for the 9th to face the bottom of their order.

Regardless of the pitcher, if Ohtani hits a solo shot in the 7th the argument is the same. It's not like Hoffman is immune to home runs.

I was fine with putting in Dominguez. Just don't take the risk and walk him with nobody on. If he still comes around and scores then fine but atleast the right managing decision would have been made.

I’d be very surprised to see Ohtani go beyond the 6th. Coming off of elbow surgery, that the most he’s pitched. Getting long, quality at bats is going to be crucial to chasing him early.

The Dodgers bullpen performed admirably last night. They were well rested but the more strain we put on them, the more likely they’ll break down.

Yeah I guess I’m scared of his overall level right now. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him surgical and his 100 pitches could take him further in the game, not that he’ll pitch 110+ or anything.

Having seen both bullpens, and how beaten up our lineup is, I would give the pen advantage to the Dodgers quite handily. The low leverage arms last night blew me away.

I think 90-100 pitches is about what he’ll get. If we can put up good at bats, that is about 6 innings. I don’t think Ohtani’s stuff is as good as Yamamoto’s but it’s close.

I think we have a legit shot tonight. This group is resilient and hasn’t gotten nearly as much production as needed from Guerrero as they should. We were beaten up by Yamamoto but there were times we almost had him on the ropes and just couldn’t land the big blow. We were still competitive for much of the game. Last night, our brutally depleted lineup essentially lost 1-0 in the second game of a double header to a half billion dollar team.

Remember, this team was down 2-0 against the Mariners. I still think this series is going 7 games. Even with the loss, yesterday was a pretty big blow to the dodgers bullpen.

The problem with Ohtani is he's so multi-dimensional that he can hurt you every way.

Pitch to him and he can crush you for a homer.

Walk him with nobody on base and he can steal 2nd and he's in scoring position (Jays were very fortunate on that steal attempt because he was safe before he tried to switch legs on the bag)

In the end the safest move is to intentionally walk him, and they should have in the 7th inning, but I do get why it's a tough call.

There is an alternate universe where they walk him in the 7th, he steals 2nd, and then Betts or Freeman knock in the tying run and we are sitting here questioning the decision to put the tying run that's a huge threat to steal on base.
