I think if Dallas gets the first goal tonight, the Oilers are going to crack completely.

He was still putting up points with assists tho.

are they going 13:5 or is there a 2nd F coming out in addition to Foegele if both Perry and McLeod are in?

I thought the Oilers were lucky to get a win in game 1. This one could easily be 3-0 for Dallas if not for a lucky bounce in OT.
The Oilers strategy in this series seems to be to come out gangbusters to try an win it in the 1st period and hope the other team breaks. It could be that their big guns are getting warn down. The thing is, Dallas seems like a very confident and patient team that doesn't break easily, plus their depth allows them to play a better full 60-minute game. Weathering an early storm doesn't seem to be an issue for them so far.

I think it's the worn-down issue. The Oilers have looked tired every year they get eliminated in the playoffs. It's the 3rd round, they rely on few players to play and now are playing a very deep Dallas team that has high end players. Guys like Jamie Benn who has 12 points plays like 14 mins a night. If Hintz was healthy game 1, this series would be 3 to 0.
Oilers supporters keep talking about the depth. If you look, Oilers depth scoring is similar to Dallas, I see what they are thinking. Problem is small smaple size and competition. Oilers supporters fail to acknowledge that Dallas played Vegas and Colorado. Elite teams and won. Edmonton pouned LA and barely beat a struggling and injured Canucks team. Now they are playing a deep stacked team. They are lucky they have a chance but IMO Dallas should win this series as I just don't think Mcdavid and Leon have much left in the tank.
When looking at the depth, Pavelski has produced nothing all playoffs. Would be nice to see him have a game tonight

Is the depth scoring the same as the Stars though?
The Stars have 10 players ~.5 PPG or better this playoffs. The Oilers have 7 ~.5PPG or better and it's an extremely steep drop off a cliff with really only 5 players actually chipping in. Even the Stars players that aren't scoring as much are at least impactful 200 foot players.
The Oilers were lucky the Canucks let them off the hook by no showing 2 elimination games when they were on the ropes. Now they are being fully exposed for having a roster full of 4th line and 3rd pairing talent outside of the half a dozen high end players.
Sorry but Holloway, Brown, Janmark, Ceci, Kulak, Perry, Mcleod and Foegele would barely be getting a sniff of ice on any of the other 3 playoff teams and it shows when a team like the Stars forces them to play a lot of 5-5 hockey.

In a way though...I like the destruction.
Watching the highlights and the way that Hyman, McDavid and Draisaitl celebrate so effervescently?
Knowing what I know? I know of the eventual glares at the Jumbotron.
It makes the eventual destruction of their morale just all that much better.
Just win Dallas. I dont care how. I dont care who you have to kill to get there. Just do it.

Probably a 6:50 puck drop I’m guessing. Need to get that 20 min Oiler hype in.

My point was the depth scoring Edmonton has got so far is overrated due to small sample size and imbalance in level of competition. Edmonton supporters don't see it but I'm not an Edmonton supporter. Vegas and Colorado are much better teams than Vancouver and LA. Edmonton depth guys have looked very bad in this series when playing against a deep high end hockey team. They contributed more when playing weaker teams, but the media here keeps talking like the Oilers have depth. They are blind.

There is just an endless parade of blatant oilers fans on the panel. They don’t even try to hide it. Clowns. This isn’t your little podcast, it’s a national broadcast.
