Thought about it. Decided to go chase the Flames through California in November instead.

I wanna go when the men are in Montreal so maybe I'll go next year. Field kinda weak this year. I also really wanna go to Indian Wells at some point, I'm pretty sure I remember Inglewood Jack going to it and saying it was an amazing venue.

the timing of Rogers Cup seems to be a problem for getting all the top guys to commit. they often choose Cincy as their final USO tuneup and don't like playing the two back to back. and the men's rotation in Toronto always lands on Olympic years so it's a double whammy. I remember 2012 was a pretty big bust for top names as well.

as for Rogers vs Indian Wells, depending on what you like to do on vacation, Montreal might be a more interesting overall trip if you do lots of stuff other than tennis. but if your primary focus is visiting the grounds and watching matches, practices, etc. I don't think IWTG can be beat, it's just on another level compared to any other facility I've been to.

I also enjoy sitting by a pool and scarfing mad tacos all day long, so the Palm Springs/Desert vacation part outside of tennis fit my needs just fine.

I've been to Indian Wells (last year, in fact). I just went the first couple of days when admission is free and most of the stars are just practicing and not playing. I was blown away by the setup. It's truly awesome and the best place in North America to watch a tennis tournament that's not the U.S. Open.

Special moment for home wildcard, No. 192 Steven Diez! He wins his first-ever ATP tour-level match v #Edmund

Awesome for it to happen at the Rogers Cup! Meant to be.

I didn't realize Denis drew Kyrgios lol. Should be a fun matchup. First up in primetime tonight.

That win puts him in the 160s! He should get Tomic next.

Polansky def. Smyczek 46 63 60 nice!
gets Paire or Stepanek next, that's not impossible.

If Kyrgios losses to Shapovalov he's really going to flip his lid.
