You could see Monfils completely deflate as soon as he lost those two match points. Disappointing as I was hoping for more new blood in the semis.

Wozniacki is through on Peng's retirement and Serena is on cruise control up two breaks in the first. Frankly I'm kinda glad Genie didn't make it to this point, Serena might have crushed her like Kvitova did.

Annnd Serena up two more breaks in the second. Might be looking at a 45 minute match. Destruction.

A Williams - Wozniacki final should be a dandy match.

Well if Serena shows up like today Wozniacki will be lucky to win 5 games total. Serena still miles ahead of the next closest woman when she's on.

I'm fine with new blood as long as it's legitimate new blood that could start the next era of greats. The Monfils clown show has been around for a long time (he's 28) and yesterday he simply did what he's always done. If he actually managed to win, you know that he'd just bomb out the next match, and then disappear back into obscurity for another year or two.
that's why the Raonic generation of players (not Raonic specifically, I'll always cheer for him) is so disappointing. They're entering their prime years and still not making a dent against the aging Big 4. by the time these legends are out of the game, Dimitrov, Nishikori etc. might find themselves running out of steam and getting beat by the generation after them.
after the Big 4 we might end up with 5+ years of chaos where a bunch of one hit wonders grab slams, kind of like the time between Sampras and Federer. I'm honestly welcome to latching onto the next generational talent because watching old man Roger flip between awesome and horrific is just hard on my nerves.

all those people who argue that womens tennis is equal or greater quality/entertainment value, especially after the last 2 mens night matches, I invite you to bring that up again please. tell me that you would be fine spending the same ticket money on the last couple of Serena or Wozniacki matches as you would the last Djokovic or Federer match, and do it with a straight face.

I wholly agree.
I have never been a Federer fan. Such a "boring" personality, pretty much the Michael Schumacher of the tennis world. Extremely dominant but oh so dull. Pete was much the same however.
I am a long time Agassi fan. I miss the Pete/Agassi battles. Rafa is the man now !!

He's really fighting which is great to see. He could have gone away after being down 2-1 to Milos. He could have gone away after losing the 4th set tiebreak to Stan.

Looking like Federer is gonna need Cilic to start giving it away a bit. Down a set and a break.

That or they're going to have start doing a rain dance in the Federer box for Roger to re-group.
