I think you are right and in the end the good teams win in the play-offs. There may be a team or two that make it in on their schedule but they usually are weeded out in the first round.
I'm happy the Colts are doing well, but I can't see them losing by less then 20 to any of NE, Baltimore, Houston, or Denver on the road. But building a winning environment is great and Luck has been amazing this year.

Packers in talks with the Rams in an effort to acquire Steven Jackson apparently. that would be a very interesting wrinkle IMO...he is so good catching balls as well as running it would add a dynamic for rodgers he simply has never had.
I have to think someone out there could part with a 2nd round pick to bring in Dwayne Bowe. He wants out of KC, and they're looking at a compensatory 3rd round pick for losing him. Not too sure where he'd fit best though as the AFC teams in the mix are all pretty good at receiver. The Dolphins could use him, and they have a big stock pile of picks. But the risk with them is being able to keep him from testing the market.

Really though, how do you fix it? At least this year I think the 8 division winners will all be legitimate playoff teams. Each Conference has one good Wild Card team, and than it's a glut of teams with 3-4 wins right now, and I can't say I see anyone in that pack breaking out of mediocrity.
So if the Colts get in at 9-7....did they really deny a good 8-8 team from making the playoffs?
With the three last place teams holding wild cards, there is the who they've played factor so far. The Colts have only played one tough opponent so far, other than the comeback vs. Green Bay. Miami's toughest games are still on their schedule, and the Vikings haven't had to travel much, or face any good teams on the road. In time I think only one of these three will survive. But no one else behind them has shown to be that good either.
Plus, so what if one team is good enough to take advantage of that. What does it say about the other 7 division losers that can't take advantage of it. Especially the teams that are consistently down at the bottom year after year and just continue to have losing records playing a weaker schedule. I say good on the team that finds a way to get to the playoffs, where generally they'll lose if they were playing over their heads, but it's one game at a time and you never know. Seems to me the Arizona Cardinals made it to the super bowl probably in part due to this.

I'd like to see the Eagles add him. Maclin and Jackson are good, but they're both similar WRs, plus Maclin was traditionally a slot receiver in college and I think he'd be great in that role again. Not to mention the fact that one of Jackson and Maclin always seem to be hurt, and they haven't had the big redzone threat WR since T.O.
That being said, with all of the issues the Eagles have on offensive line, Roseman may want to hold on to his picks for the draft.
EDIT: In reality, I think the Seahawks, Rams, and Dolphins would have to be the big favourites.
My darkhorses would be the Jets, Colts, Bills, and Vikings.

Colts don't have a 2nd rounder this year (traded for Vontae Davis), and I doubt they would trade away another one for a rental. My money is on the Dolphins

Well, my thinking was if they thought they could lock him up or franchise him at the end of the year. A duo of Wayne and Bowe would look pretty good catching passes from Luck for a couple of years. I also have no clue what the Colts' cap situation looks like.

If I remember correctly, they're way up against it this season due to the number of contracts they cut this offseason. So the roster they're playing with a roster that is well under the cap. I'm not sure they go after Bowe, team still has so many holes, it's a lot to add that contract for a wideout.
And I do think that Bowe with a good quarterback is a Top 10 wide receiver talent easily. He's rotting away in KC but he really can play the position well.

If the Colts are serious about making the playoffs, they should make a pitch for Bowe. Give Luck a true #1 receiver.

Reggie Wayne is a true #1 wide receiver and Dwayne Bowe is not even on the same level as Wayne, and I like Dwayne Bowe. I don't think the Colts are serious to make the playoffs, considering they're coming off a 2 win season and in a full gutting and rebuild.
Just my opinion however and that's not worth that much.

Fair enough, but Wayne is getting up there in age and Bowe would be a great addition. Obviously he'd be a great addition to any team, but I just sort of figured the Colts look okay right now and Bowe would make them better.

They need all kinds of help on defence before they need another WR
I was at the game in KC on Sunday and three different planes were circling the stadium before the game with the following banners.
"Face it Chiefs fans. Tightwad Clark doesn't care"
"Fire Pioli, Chiefs fans deserve better"
"Blackout Arrowhead, Nov 18. Saveourchiefs.com"
People are getting fed up with this historically bad performance. Especially when the person most responsible for this mess stated that "I could win 2 games with 20 people off the street" when he was hired four years ago. Now that he has personally assembled the "right 53" it will be a miracle to win that second game.
Saints/Eagles should still be exciting. Almost like a Will Ferrell comedy.
It's NFL TRADE DEADLINE DAY! The day where millions take the day off work in North America and are glued to the tv screen for the entire day. What is going to happen? The tension is incredible

Anyhow, good times in the Chiefs Kingdom.
That's hardcore to rent a plane for those banners...I LOVE IT!
