I wonder what the deal was with the called back goal... Gaudreau was credited with the primary assist until the officials got together, called it back, and gave BC a penalty without video review.

Obviously someone saw a penalty and called it, anything that happened after BC touched the puck doesn't matter. That is not a reviewable play.

Until we see the replay of it (I hope it's in the highlights package), it's hard to judge.
One thing to keep in mind is that the BC announcers are GIGANTIC homers. I've watched a few of their games this year with the BC announcers doing the audio, and they've flipped out on calls that I thought were perfectly valid.

Oh, I know how rosy their glasses are. That's kind of why I like to listen to them.
According to them the goal went in. Was called a goal by the official, then the officials met to discuss the call, then they waved it off and gave Brown a penalty.
So unless one ref meant to call Brown for goalie interference (according to announcers contact was made after the puck was in the net) and just forgot to or didn't blow the whistle, then I don't know what to think.
You can review goals for different reasons in college than you can in the NHL. For example, you can review to see if a play was offside which you can't in the NHL.
So what's the status on BC's playoff run? They lost two of three this weekend, what will determine how much longer they're playing?
I don't pay attention to the NCAA playoff structure, so not sure.
they will play in the NCAA tournament as it is independent from the conference tournaments. They will sit for the next 12 or so days and wait for the tournament to start.

they're out of the Hockey East playoffs after losing the best of three vs Notre Dame this weekend. They will probably still be invited to regionals, which start at the end of March.

they will definitely still be invited. There is zero chance they drop from #2 in the pairwise rankings to out of the top 10-16 (depending how many out of the top 16 win conferences)
Considering he wouldn't be able to play in abbotsford this year if he signed with the Flames, I hope they offer him an ATO and sign him to an ELC following the season.
I just don't know how much Johnny would benefit from 10 games in the NHL versus a potentially long AHL Playoff run.

From what I understand, would his ELC not change from a 3 year to a 2 year if he signs it entering his 21 year old season? I believe there's a smaller signing bonus.
Also a PTO is not a pro contract. If he's hurt, I'm not sure what insurance covers. There's also always the possibility of a career ending injury, preventing him to ever sign an ELC.

He would definitely sign his ELC before taking an ATO, to protect himself in case of injury.
It's what Campbell did this week with the Wings. Signed his ELC starting next year (but still earning the signing bonus now, I believe), then went to the AHL on an ATO.
Gaudreau's ELC will be 3 years if he signs in 2014. The ELC length doesn't drop to 2 years until the player's 22 year-old year.
