I had a vendor bring some from Edmonton, she said she was in line for only an hour which was short apparently. I don't get the hype at all, I remember Cookies by George being better back in the day- and not $5+ per cookie.

And Chipotle is already launched in Ontario / BC. Low Alberta taxes are a draw
Seeing two prominent U.S.-based food chains make their first attempts at breaking into Alberta came as no surprise to Mark von Schellwitz, Restaurants Canada’s vice-president of Western Canada.
“Alberta’s actually one of the usual places that U.S. chains expanding to Canada go into first because it’s probably got the most competitive tax and regulatory environment that’s the most similar to what they’re dealing with in the states that they’re operating in,” said von Schellwitz.
“So, not surprised at all,” he said, adding the province’s lack of a provincial sales tax, eight per cent corporate tax rate — the lowest of all Canadian provinces — and low liquor prices make it an appealing place for chains to settle operations.

I haven't had a good frosted sugar cookie in forever, might have to find some excuse to go to Airdrie.

I remember when Cookies by George first opened in Chinook, IIRC they used to weigh them individually on the scale and were sold according to weight.
Paying ~$0.75 for a single cookie seemed expensive at the time but they were oh, so good.

Americanos? Americanos? Americanos?

I did try Crumbl last night, was at the dollar store in the same parking lot and figured I'd mosey over. There was no line-up. While the cookies are overpriced, they are excellent. Not the type of thing you grab a dozen of to take to a party or whatever, more of a special treat like a Crave cupcake or what have you. I'll be back.

I was going through Airdrie and so I also tried Crumbl. A few people in line. The cookies were really big and really good, worth checking out if you happen to be near by.

You can't trust a gym with that many vowels in the name.

Bricks Wine in Inglewood is closing for good and they are selling off the remaining inventory at significant price reductions. They are open today and closed on Sunday and Monday and will be back open for the liquidation sale on Tuesday.

We're not going to see that kind of 2000's kitsch again with the faux cobblestones and Las Vegas type fake stucco buildings and windows and that pseudo-Tuscan rustic look.
Everything will look like their new Sunterra market in Bankers Hall. Cold, marble, utilitarian, efficient.

Any commercial real estaters know what's going on with the old Zellers/Walmart in Deer Valley?
Some sort of activity (semi-demo?) started a few weeks ago.
