Are flights to NRT getting cheaper due to the Earthquake in Japan? I'm curious because where I'd want to go in Japan is about as far away from the Earthquake epicentre as possible and if they're at their lowest right now, I may consider buying tickets.
I haven't noticed anything unusual for Tokyo, from YYC or any other airports in Canada.
What there has been however, are some significant price drops to other Asian cities that often route through Tokyo. Cities like Singapore, Bangkok, Saigon, etc. These price drops have mostly been for April/May flights.

Westjet has a 10% off promo code to pass on the fuel savings they've realised by using helium to lighten the plans. Expires at 9:59 PM MT for travel before June 30th.
Here are their video and press release announcing the deal.
I'm looking to go to NYC June 3 to June 8 from YYC. Need the best price flight.
Should I just wait for an AC or WJ seat sale?
Thanks in advance
Hi Hah,
No problem, glad you enjoy them! Unfortunately, when someone asks 'should I wait for a sale?' that implies predicting a sale is possible, which it isn't, I wish it were
To be honest, I wouldn't hold my breath for a sale to NYC, there hasn't been anything interesting to New York in a long, long time. About $700 roundtrip after tax seems to be the level they're consistently stuck at these days.
If it were me, I'd probably watch up to about 2 months ahead, which would be right about now and then pull the trigger.
Just remember that Newark (EWR) is usually the cheapest to fly in/out of.

Wow, that's one of the nicest all inclusive resorts in Mexico, or anywhere for that matter. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Hey cmyden,
I guess just to give a review of the Royal Playa De Carmen we stayed at for the info of everyone here, it was the nicest resort I have stayed in. Its only downfalls is the night time show isn't as large as the previous all-inclusive I am used to, and it is definitely an older crowd (35+ for the most part but the resort is a 16+ resort).
As with most resorts, if you want a chair by the pool be prepared to get up early (before 7) and put a towel on it.
I don't know my alcohol that well but from what I saw they have lots of expensive brands of alcohol, but will serve you the generic stuff unless you request a brand, in which case they serve your choice without question.
The 24Hr all-inclusive (plus tip) room-service is an amazing feature.

This is unfortunate since there were so many deals to New York last year. It was in the $400 range for months and dropped as low as mid 200s (for both New York and Philly) as you know.

Great info, thanks Kavy! I think the age range can probably be attributed to the price tag of the Royal Playa. It would make sense that one of the most expensive all inclusive resorts out there would also have an older crowd.
You've gone and spoiled yourself now though, there's not too many resorts that get better reviews in Mexico. The Iberostar Grand Paraiso might be one of the few that does...

Yep, I remember them well, that NYC one was for the first week of May. $250 roundtrip after tax! And it was around for a long time too, on both Westjet and AC. And it wasn't uncommon to see the occasional flight dip below $400 or into the mid $300s.
There hasn't been anything close to that in a while though. $650-700ish seems to be the low now.

..or anyone on here. My family is looking to go to the Philippines in December (during christmas and into the new year) and we have seen many prices in the $1200 range. Are we best to just buy or are we able to find anything cheaper?
I follow deals a lot but they are only for NA. I go to vegas lots =) but I have no idea about pricing for international.

Is that $1200 roundtrip after tax? If so, I'd take it. Around $1150 is about the bottom to Manila (any time of year), and anything sub-$1000 would be extremely notable and unexpected.
So $1200 after tax during Christmas would be a good price indeed.

Hi Chris, just wanted to see what you thought the best time to travel over to sweden stockholm would be and what a great to a reasonable price might be in June / July / August.

Well when it comes to weather, you're not going to beat June through August. But of course, summer is also when the rest of the world hits up Europe as well, meaning airfares are at their peak.
I'm not sure if it's a long enough trip for you, but there's an unusual fare for $957 roundtrip after tax from June 24 to July 1. Try it on Orbitz.
Or try June 24 to July 8, it's $1003. These flights are using combinations of Condor and Lufthansa, via Frankfurt.
Otherwise, all on one airline appears to be very expensive at the moment, to the tune of $1800ish in summer.
There's always the London + cheap Europe flight option as well. Haven't seen anything from Air Transat (maybe Condor this year? Fingers crossed) in the summer yet to make that worthwhile.

Thanks Chris, we're looking at going for the year, so we're just trying to get a couple ballpark estimates on initial up front costs.
any idea if open ended tickets are better than rescheduling tickets?
Both options will usually be expensive, but open ended is usually the priciest. If it were me, I'd probably be looking at cheap one way tickets via London each way. ie, the cheapest one way now, and then looking for the cheapest one way back about 4 months before coming home. Try to come back in September if you can, it'll be cheaper.

I used Auto Europe the last few times without issue. Googling around, it's easy to find complaints, but I think they're basically just a huge consolidator for the big name car rental agencies and it might be harder to get something resolved if anything goes wrong with the rental, which probably leads to the complaints.

There's another one of those Wendover, Nevada packages - $179/person after tax (flight + 3 nights hotel)
Back on March 11th I mentioned that there was a casino junket package deal to Wendover, Nevada for $179/person after tax. That's including flight + 3 nights hotel.
It sold out pretty quick, but it looks like they've added another one, leaving July 19th.
