This season seems to be progressing fast. They barely even mentioned Deb and Dex plunging into a lake. Did they just leave the car at the bottom of the lake?
If I nearly lost my life while my sister tried to kill me and herself by driving into a lake I'd at least take a couple days off work. Then again, I'm not Dexter, nor a serial killer.

Current episode spoiler!
Not 5 seconds before, I was thinking about Hannah and when she would make an appearance.

The damn synopsis write up on Shaw gave that ending away. Just brutal. Was waiting for it the whole episode and its the big moment at the end. Just brutal.

I'm not sure how I feel about the whole Zach Hamilton thing. I was really hoping he would just kill him. I think I just don't like the actor.
I liked the ending though. Can't wait for the next episode.

I don't like the actor either....I was groaning when he was talking about how killing made him feel "like the sun."
Ugh.

I really cant wait for this season and series as a whole to finish. I have been watching since the start and have too much invested into the show to just quit without seeing it to its conclusion, but damn its just so weak and predictable this season.
The whole Zach Hamilton story line along with Dr. Vogel do nothing for me, in fact both characters are annoying and boring. We are now at episode 6 and I am less interested than ever and I was not startled at all by the re appearance of Hannah, this season will boil down to the first and last episodes with all in between being nothing much more than filler. Having said all that I am still very curious to see how they decide to end all this, just hoping its not anything like the Sopranos.
August 11th! nuff said.

Yeah I have not been a fan of this season at all either. Maybe if this wasn't the last season it would be alright, but they should be going out with a bang, not a whimper. There is no gravitas to the season, and I really can't even figure out where they are going, or should we even care. They are just throwing a bunch of random crap at Dexter, but none if it is sticking (Debra's problems, Vogel, love interest, Zach Hamilton, Harrison, and now Hannah is back). And none of it seems to be going anywhere.
Then all of the side stories (except for Debra's) are essentially pointless. Does anyone really care if Quinn makes Lieutenant, or Masuka and his daughter, or anything about Jamie (unless she gets naked)?
It's just frustrating to watch as they could have done a season of Dexter on the run, after people finally find out he is the Bay Harbor Butcher, but nope instead we get another season that's pretty much the same as any other, just without an intriguing killer that Dexter needs to hunt down.
I keep waiting for a twist to happen like the new love interest is secretly a killer herself, and is actually the killer who sent the brains to Vogel, and now is hunting Dexter, but doesn't look like anything remotely interesting is going to happen anytime soon. Just pretty much a waste of a season, which is really sad considering this is the last one. I still see how the other guy was actually that killer though, so I hope they will reveal that eventually, as it just didn't add up in the end.

They put that kid playing Zach in a hell of position. Here's this highly acclaimed Showtime drama which has had some of the best actors ever as guest stars over its 7 seasons. And now you, in its 8th and final season, are thrust into a key supporting role.
Good luck, kid.

Some of the best guest actors ever? Seriously.
Outside of Lithgow(amazing) and maybe Carradine(stretch), the rest were pretty average to terrible.
Julia stiles-awkward
Jimmy smits-awful
Colin Hanks-in my worst all time performances. He was putrid, the season was putrid outside of the final scene.
Johnny Lee Miller-average

Disappointed that the script didn't have Dexter put an end to that Zach squid. Vogel and her nonsense is irritating the piss out me Dexter should end her too via a lobotomy.
I had to re watch the last 2 min of episode i thought i had been drugged along with Deb and Dexter. Hannah out of the blue for no reason are you kidding me. That was so random.
Might as well bring back Lumen for a wholesome family reunion as well.

Tough to believe that this will end in 6 episodes, but they have set up all the pieces to wrap it up.
Dexter sets up his protege, plays "Harry" for a few episodes to leave a bit of a legacy.
After the car incident, Dexter will now have a plan for what happens to Harrison if anything happens to him.
Quinn will either get taken out by Dexter, try to take down Zach/Matthews and blow it, or find out about Deb/Dexter while trying to prove what a good cop he is.
Deb goes down with Dexter or ends up with her new boss.
Vogel ends up mentoring Zach once Dex is gone.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Hannah.

I have a feeling that Dexter will test out Zach on a ride along to see if he is "code worthy" and will come to realize on a kill what he already knows about Zach that the kid is budding fantasy serial killer. Dexter offs him once and for all.
Hannah, did she escape from prison on a day pass or something.
I am wondering did she just kill off Deb and if not that, is Dexter going to somehow kill Hannah for doing this.

Why not wait until next week until we find out the reason before judging this twist?
I'm extremely critical of this show, but I'll at least let this play out before I start ripping on this turn of events.

I'm still sticking with the prediction I made after the second episode. I think Vogel is purposely pitting Dexter against other serial killers because she has some sort of fetish about finding the perfect killer. She's already made several comment on how perfect she thinks Dexter is. I think she knows Zach is able to understand and manipulate people's emotions convincingly just like Dexter, so she wants to find out which one of them is superior.
I also wouldn't be surprised if she made some sort of recommendation or put in a good word for Hanna out of prison, so she could set up yet another showdown for Dexter where he has to fight with his emotions.
And I, of course, suspect she had a greater role in escalating the conflict with brain mellon-baller killer (can't recall his name).
Let's face it, the main guest star on Dexter always turns out to be some twisted individual, I suspect Vogel is no different.

Hanna wasn't in prison though after last season, she was just "at large" essentially.

Yeah I was wondering that too, so I looked it up:
Quote:
Know who else is good at lying? Harrison! The kid never used to say more than a word or two. Now he can tell full lies. He lied about breaking and hiding the remote, and rather than this being chalked up to Harrison being four and discovering that he can say things that aren't true, even if people see right through it, the reasoning behind it was that Harrison learned lying from his father. Harrison apparently witnessed his father toss the stuffed dog that got covered in blood the night Dexter killed Briggs. Dexter lied about the dog and Harrison later dug it out of the trash. Probably not the best thing to have lying around, but it seems oddly fitting that the kid should have a blood-covered toy. Dark, but fitting.

That was earlier in this season; that was the Briggs Debra was sleeping with to try and find those jewels he had stolen. It was not the other Briggs... whom Debra also slept with.
This Briggs:
I think Harrison was in the car with Dexter when Briggs was killed, but not 100% positive (but I guess the bear was).
