They've been evaluating the possibility of that.

By the time this is all done people will be taking individual drone shuttles to the games so there wont be a need for parking spaces.

Dome will be getting demolished. It needs significant repairs to the roof, plus I imagine whatever the Flames aren't fixing while they are there waiting for the new rink.

"Stampede Gateway" has parking.
They're contractually required to demolish Saddledome.
Stampede Campus is SAM Centre and the arts school.
Ag Building would replace the zillion year old Victoria Pavillion and current ag complex.
Western Event Centre already exists.

Ag building is the home of most of the actual animal events through out the year. It's already there but by the drawings, it looks like it's get an upgrade - https://venues.calgarystampede.com/e...lture-building
Western Event center is already there - https://venues.calgarystampede.com/e...n-event-centre
Stampede campus is the home to the new Sam centre, Transalta arts studio, an Amphitheatre and the Calgary Arts Academy.

The Dome was cool in it's time - it is so dated now that it's an eyesore... obviously they are tearing it down, as they should be.
Edit: Also, I imagine they have taken parking into consideration... unless they forgot that people have cars and drive them places.

The Stampede Campus is a sneaky nice spot. Cafe in the SAM Centre is very good, too.

People will figure it out for parking. I imagine normalizing parking at the Zoo and taking the train would solve a lot of issues.

They are now expecting 18,000 people to use the C-Train to get to and from Flames games?
I see surface parking in the south west corner. I think there is supposed to be parking inside the Event Centre but that is probably for the rich folks who play/work for the Flames.
I'm more concerned about people with disabilities getting to the arena. Where do they park and if there isn't parking is there a train line right up to that building?
This concept doesn't do much to show all of that but there is probably something planned for parking. Hopefully.

The Live Events District is a terrific idea for that space where the Saddledome is. Fun fact - Edmonton is actually building a similar venue right now (RFP was out earlier this year).
Also, huge fan of Populous over here. Love their work.

That's the 'fan park' on the old casino sight right?

It is, yes. They're getting a permanent, premiere indoor/outdoor fan venue for that site.

It's tons easier to take the train to a game, and frankly preferable than parking (and I had a sweet pass). Including for disabled people, if we are talking wheelchairs. For the exceptions I'm sure there will be access for ubers and taxis to drop off people who can't walk.
With the underpass by the Bell Centre it's not even a bad walk from the parking areas on 9th unless it's absolutely freezing. And the arena is closer than it was.

Its also important to note that this is a 20 year plan with nothing set in stone or committed to yet.
The Saddledome site might be a paved lot for that entire time and be used as gameday parking.

I vote we start a dedicated grassroots effort to get the Saddledome designated a national historic site. Y'know, just to gum up the works.

Historic sites should be older than me.
