This is short sighted. It's clear the agent is digging in and was more than willing to wait for the season to start. Sounds like neither side is willing to meet in the middle. So eventually something will give but that doesn't mean BT has to cave.

It's Treliving's job to show why those demands are nonsensical.

If the Gaudreau camp can't come to reason - there's a reason (like he doesn't actually want to be here or something silly like 9M is Johnny's price to play in Calgary).

Reason always prevails in the end, either for the better or the worse.

I keep thinking this is going to get done for Wednesday but like many on here I have serious doubts. When Treliving flew to NY and met with the agent, the player, and the family I was sure it was going to get done (posters with inside sources reassures us as much). Trelivng then states "we are moving heaven and earth to get Johnny signed and to be here for Wednesday". That could still happen but seems unlikely.

Is the waiving of Bollig being done to free up cap space? Maybe or maybe he is terrible and should be waived.

I was having this discussion with my father in law and he brought up a good point. Treliving went to NY to get a deal done, he wants to get a deal done and it shows. If Johnny wants a deal done it would be a smart move for he and his agent to now come to Calgary and try and get a deal done. We are so close to Wednesday and Johnny and Gross flying here would be one way to show the fans that they to want to get a deal reached and if something happens Johnny is ready to join the team immediately.

Both parties have screwed this up letting it go as long as they have. In my opinion the Flames showed they want to make a deal by going to see Johnny face to face. Perhaps now Gaudreau can return the favor?
