In fairness Tulos been better at the plate of late, the big 3 however are not. Here's the splits over the last 15 games, while admitedly setting the bar low, Tulo actually has the highest batting average.
Donaldson .207 .324 .293
Bautista .182 .338 .309
Edwin .220 .324 .492
Tulo .224 .258 .483
I get Moneyball and that walks are valuable, however, at some point your RBI guys need to get up there and put the ball on smash. If you're presumptive 2,3,4 and 5 hitters are gonna swing the bat like that you're in trouble.

actually thrown Martin in that group too,
moreso then getting rid of Gibbons. I think we need a new batting coach, how so many premier hitters can all of a sudden hit the tank together at the same time is pretty much impossible.

Speaking of coaches, they should be getting rid of Luis Rivera (third base coach). He's friggin brutal. Late giving signs, indecisive, and way too passive. He's cost the Jays multiple runs this year. He's so bad you can see that the Jays baserunners are completely ignoring him which has led to them being hung out to dry. I've seen multiple players in heated exchanges with him this year on third base, Donaldson being the most frequent. He really gave it to him a couple of weeks ago when he didn't tell him to slide until it was too late and could have caused an injury.

It's the same dude they had last season too. The whole offence hitting like this is so mystifying.
If they can Gibbons I just pray to god his replacement isn't Eric Wedge.

Looks like Odor did indeed get 8 games, per Heyman on twitter.

I'm sure there will be more but haven't seen anything else on twitter. Heyman got the 8 games from a source of his, nothing official has been released yet.

MLB decided the best punishment to the Jays is actually having Gibbons manage, so no games.

Man, Jose sure isn't liked by many. Here's a couple media guys with jabs at him.
Jeff Passan@JeffPassan
In addition to his eight-game suspension, Rougned Odor was fined $5,000. I imagine his teammates will gladly chip in to help pay that off.

There was another post by someone else declaring that Odor was now a "Legend".
His teammates sure seem to have no problem with them. MVP and Pillar were pretty quick to head out there to punch out Odor

It boggles my mind that a player who punches someone in a game of baseball for no good reason can be considered a legend. I admit I am getting way too worked up about all the Bautista hate, to me it defies logic, he celebrated the wrong way!!! Omg!

David Price, too. This was on ESPN today:
Quote:
The always eloquent David Price on former teammate José Bautista and his perception around the league: "When you face guys you never get a chance to get around them or to know them on a personal level, and everybody passes judgment. It's not okay, but that' what's going to happen. I wasn't a huge fan of Bautista, facing him all the years, him hitting all those home runs off me. I wasn't a huge fan of him. But I will endorse that guy now any time. He's a great guy and teammate. He works so hard. He comes in every single day with a ton of energy and a desire to win. He's a guy that if he's in the opposing team you may not like him, but he's the guy you want on your team. Ian Kinsler was the same for me. I hated him when he was in Texas. I hated facing him; there was just something about him. But then being Kinsler's teammate for a year with the Tigers, he's in my top five of all-time favorite people that I have ever played with. You got to get to know the person, not the player. Out on the field emotions always run high. It's just a part of it."

It's fandom.
Any Flames who punches Taylor Hall in the face is an instant hero.

Except in one sport fighting is the norm. The other not so much. Bit of a difference.

... I think what "we" need is just a bit of patience. For starters Donaldson may not have been hitting well over the past 15 but his overall line is still very good and you don't fire someone over a 15 game sample. As far as the rest go on the year as a whole...
Bautista BABIP = .243
Tulo BABIP = .213
Encarnation BABIP = .273
Those are all below MLB average (obscenely so in the case of Tulo) and mostly outside the batters control... they can't make the fielders go where the ball isn't. The only one I'm concerned about is EE since he's walking significantly less then he used to and K'ing more. And I don't think anyone ought to lose their job over what basically amounts to a bad turn from the luck dragon.
