I caught the tail end of that set, Shapo broke with Royer serving for the opening set at 5-4. Not exactly great tennis from either guy, plenty of nerves from both.

I went down the rabbit hole of Ostapenko's sportsmanship. It appears to be non-existent.

Double digits in double faults now - Can't be giving away free points like that.

That could turn out to be a monumental service hold by Denis just now early in set 4.

Shapo breaks and is serving at 4-3 in set 4. Of course, Denis has been known to go the circuitous route in his career lol
Edit: Royer is taking a MTO - The timing of this just prior to Shapo serving is curious.
Edit 2: Shapo holds to love and the crowd is really helping Denis out in this match.

Shapo gets a lucky net cord to set up match point, on match point Royer clips the tape and the ball lands out. Denis advances to round 3 after 3 hours and 35 minutes.

More carnage on the men's draw today as two more seeds (Khachanov and Cerundolo) are sent packing.

Diallo is not enjoying his match. Lots of unforced errors. Lost the first set. Just got broken to go down 2 -0 in the second

Gabe goes down to Munar in straight sets - He never looked comfortable in New York. Won his first match despite not playing very well and it caught up to him today.

Gauff and Vekic should just serve underhand just to get the ball in play, some extremely painful tennis.
