The entire building was in tears. It’s extremely uncomfortable to watch and ask his family to keep going through that.
I have zero disdain I’m not sure what you’re talking about. How about we wait until his kids are old enough to take in what is happening and honour their dad with great memories.

Everything was perfect how the Jackets and the players handled that.

####. This sucks.
I hate that Monny did not get to play with him again, but I'm so happy he can be there for the family and the kids. He is going to be a hell of an uncle.
It was great seeing Guy on the ice. It was an awesome chance to heal a bit in a familiar environment. I assume it is good for the players as well to help heal.
Also, it's great to see the ladies powering through and being happy when they can.

Message from beyond?
Kinda spooky and somehow comforting at the same time
I’ll be really freaked out if Calgary and Columbus both make the playoffs this year

I agree...wallie peanuts is one of the worst. At least with that panthers fan, he kind of came out of his hysteria after COVID was over. And the dude who loves Pepsi keeps his wokeness to the off topic forum.
But wallie peanuts is super aggressive with defending his mid-wit (or even dumber) takes. It kind of takes the joy out of Calgarypuck for me. It's kind of sad all around really

It sounds like from the article that the prosecution is expected to offer some kind of plea deal at some point. Therefore, I don't expect him to get the maximum.

Still far better than bleeding heart Canada's justice system, a drunk cement truck driver killed a family of 5 and was out in 3 years
In this case I think you'll see a plea somewhere in the range of 10-14 years

Driving over the limit (albeit barely). Drinking WHILE driving. Basically being an a-hole on the road (and assuming other drivers are the same). It was a 50 mph (so just over 80 kmh) and he was going faster. Passing on the right on a f'in shoulder to try and show up a driver.
I feel bad for the woman he was passing. She must be traumatized. Nicely moving over to allow for the bikers and seeing them get nailed.

Pretty eye opening that 5-6 beers that afternoon and several WHILE DRIVING puts you barely over 0.08 BAC. 8 beers and I would be hammered well beyond the point of driving.

Higgins vehicle sustained “significant damage” when he struck the Gaudreaus and it became inoperable about 1/10 of a mile down the road, the prosecutor’s office said.

The piece of absolute garbage didn't even stop. The car had so much damage it came to a stop, but this ####er kept going

This doesnt add up to me. I mean, you hit 2 guys on bikes. If your car became almost immediately inoperable then I'm thinking the speed they're claiming is BS.
Ugh...it just gets worse and worse. This guy is a Grade A POS.
But yeah. He didnt stop. He just kept on going.

Average stopping distance @ 80km/h is 70m
He stopped at 1/10 of a mile = 160m
Maybe you can logically reason (not forgive) the stopping distance with his drunkenness, but if his car was in driving condition I believe he would have fled.

There is no justice to be served, the brothers are dead. No amount of time will correct that. The goal should be to avoid any such kind of incident in the future, aka self driving cars so you can take the wheel away from people who can't control themselves. And this progress should happen as fast as possible.

People can generally process one standard drink per hour.
